[image description: six different cartoon-style bunting graphics, featuring six pride flags hanging from a brown rope. The flags are rectangular, finishing in a chevron shape, and have rows of brown stitching across the top of the flag and along the bottom of the chevron. First image in each set shows the flags with the topmost stripes facing the left; second image shows the three right-hand flags flipped, so all topmost edges face away from the centre of the bunting.
The first flag on each banner is an aromantic spectrum identity and alternates with the corresponding asexual spectrum pride flag. Banners in descending order: aspectusromantc and aspectussexual, ceaseromantic and ceasesexual, demiromantic and demisexual, greyromantic and greysexual, implaromantic and implasexual, vexromantic and vexsexual.]
Aromantic and Asexual Bunting

[image description: an assortment of square hand-embroidered, cross-stitched patches housed in clear plastic bags, sitting on a blue microfibre blanket. Each bag houses a loose piece of thread that matches the edging of each patch. Patches shown feature the allo-aro, aro-ace, greyromantic, frayromantic, lithromantic, cupioromantic and recipromantic flags, and each bag contains at least two patches for each type of flag.]
If folks haven’t entered the patch giveaway and still want to, I have good news--I’m extending it for a week on account of severe lack of spoons and time.
(I haven’t had time to properly queue this blog. I must first queue and schedule posts, otherwise everything is going to grind to a halt in even new heights of overwhelmed disorganization. But my insomnia, pain and migraines are frustrating me more than usual, so... Should I mention that folks have been panic-buying many gluten-free shelf-stable-or-freezable foods, meaning that I need to drag my dizzy, tired, newly-diagnosed coeliac arse back to the shops in hope of buying this week’s lunch?)
The new deadline is Monday March 9, 12 PM AEDT.
Folks can find all the entry posts under my #aro patches tag.
Have folks noticed that the bags in the photo above contain more than one patch? They do, because every winner will be receiving at least two patches! I originally chose the identities above because they had stripe colours that (somewhat) matched my Daiso embroidery floss. Except, being a raging perfectionist, I was unhappy with how the first lot of patches turned out ... so I made them all over again with a mix of eBay, Sullivans and vintage flosses.
You’ll be getting both the second (nicer) flag patch as the prize and the first version as a extra. Pride up a bag and a hat? Two bags? Make one bag the absolute embodiment of your pride, as is the burning desire of many aro folks? Put the dodgier one away in a box? Up to you!
A few folks will be getting three patches on account of dissatisfaction with colour selection (allo-aro), my deciding against a narrow border width (greyromantic) or my fooling around with making one of the other aro-ace flags (uh, aro-ace, obviously).
I have more floss after a recent Lincraft sale, so if folks are interested, I can do future giveaways for popular flags like oriented aro-ace, angled aro-ace, queerplatonic, aplatonic or even aromantic (although I figured as it’s easier to get green-and-white-flag pride merch over everything else, other aromantic-spectrum identities should take priority). Perhaps I should do a poll, when my life is a bit more sorted and these patches are shipped out?
Thank you so much for your patience, lovely followers--including the sixty or so new followers after Aro Week. (Wow! Hello! That’s so awesome!) I really do hope that this is all worth the extra wait!
