Not sure you are right about why Niall was not included in the What a Time video. Seems like it was meant to be from Julia’s perspective but it was awful imo. I mean she is not a good actress and the guy who played her ex was unintentionally hilarious because he doesn’t move throughout the video even when she is whacking him. He does blink once so we know he is alive. Horrible direction. There are a number of articles that poke fun at it too.

I agree that it’s not a particularly interesting concept that requires skills from Julia Michaels that she doesn’t have.  But as someone who has spent a lot of time watching both Niall’s and 1D’s music videos and specifically thinking about his performance - I stand by my opinion that he would have made it worse.
