Mr Boggins — though, since he finally married Indâd in Dwarvish fashion, does that make him Mr Durin-Boggins? Much to think about — has gone off to do something sappy and gross with Indâd. Probably dancing, since someone’s convinced the band to play Hobbit music. In the meantime, we’re going to cover what really matters: Cousin Gimli’s No Holds Barred Ultimate Showdown against Prince Prissyhair Greenleaf of Mirkwood. 

What? It’s not a fight! They’re having a drinking competition!

Since Kee took Amad's old room, I asked Indâd where he thought Amad would most likely wish to stay. Indâd was quiet for several minutes, thinking it over, before he said that Amad could take Thrór's rooms. Indâd and Mr Baggins, when he had been here, had been staying in Thráin's rooms. I asked if he was sure, as I had been assuming that Indâd would eventually take those rooms, as they were bigger. But Indâd shook his head and said quietly that he didn't wish to be in those rooms again. Thrór's rooms have since been cleaned and made up for Amad, whenever she arrives, and the cataloguers had brought in items that had been found in her old room. There's now a shelf decorated with old toys and belongings, something to make the room seem more like Amad's. I hope she likes it, when she arrives.

We’ve been getting rooms set up for Amad and the others coming with her. They’re just about done, though there hasn’t been any sign of Amad yet. Indâd said not to worry, that if there was anyone who would get through Mirkwood quickly and without hesitation, it’s Amad. Kee says that Tauriel’s told them that the spiders are being driven back so that the path is safer.

Indâd has been personally checking in with every team around the mountain, seeing to their progress and talking with the leaders for hours. Balin tracks him down to get him to put the final signature on things but neither of us are in any way upset that he’s not the one attending to the paperwork. Between Balin and I, we can work through it pretty well. And Thornirin and Bain have even come to help a few times! Though Thornirin tends to get distracted by some history book that he’s found and seems to pop over because he wants someone to excitedly explain it to.

Before heading to my room, I stopped at Indâd's door. Since he seems to be feeling better, I offered him his account back again. He considered it for a long minute but eventually told me to hold onto it for a while longer.

Indâd appeared at supper followed by Halda and Nori, the talk of areas to clean having seemingly extended to where the teams should explore next. Halda had a map in front of her, explaining the route she thought was best while Nori tried to explain his route. Indâd seemed to be listening to the discussion while looking the map over. When Indâd sat down next to me, he pulled the map from Halda's grip (she barely noticed) and laid it in front of me. There were two routes drawn out on the map and Indâd asked me which I thought was the better of the two to go down first. I took a few minutes to look it over, partially paying attention to the argument between Halda and Nori, before I gave Indâd my answer. He nodded once and said that it was the same conclusion that he'd come to. He quieted Halda and Nori, giving them the order of which route to follow, before he turned and thanked me for the help.

Indâd disappeared after breakfast and though concern crossed Balin's face, neither of us tried to find him. I knew Dwalin was keeping an eye out and it wasn't until lunch that he reappeared. Indâd was accompanied by Halda, the leader of the cleaning teams. They were talking with each other, discussing new areas for the teams to go to. The circles under his eyes are still dark, but he's looking better.

With Indâd here at the table with us, I half expected him to go back to taking over the paperwork but he's kept his distance from it. Not that he hasn't been helping, he'll discuss them with us, but he hasn't formed a stack in from of him yet to work through. He's been in deep thought for a little while now, one hand fiddling with the crown that he's yet to put on.

We took a late lunch and Indâd joined us. He didn't eat as much as the others, but it was more than the little he was eating before. The few in the company who ate at the same time as us looked surprised to see Indâd. There were raised eyebrows sent in our direction but there were also smiles. Indâd's drop into the sickness may not have been as outwardly violent as the last time (I can't help but wonder about the things that had been going around in his mind) but he thankfully looks to have found himself again.
