Mrs. Peel is being most indelicate.
Just finished rereading indelicate and i love it so much. i reread every spoopy season! 👻 I LOVE the phone convo between stan and eddie re: nighthawks and identifying birbs 😂 and i love the relationship reddie have with stan. just wondering if you could share more about what stan and richie talked about when richie took the phone? 🥹 i took it as stan sort of grounding richie and checking in but curious if you had a more flushed out convo in mind that happened off screen?
So later in the story, Eddie is going to call Stan, and Stan is going to ask Eddie to put Richie on the phone. Then Stan is going to ask Richie for follow-up on the conversation they had back in Bangor--the scene where Eddie decided to be a little shit when he saw Richie and Stan having a private conversation and ask "What are you guys talking about?" Richie is going to be... medium irritated with Stan. So in my head, I had Stan circling back to that follow-up, and then talking to Richie about his stress responses and the mental place that the bird incident put Richie into (read: the incredible violence of It, and Eddie's helplessness after being impaled, and Richie being in a first-responder role, which he and Stan shared).
But the reveal of the ongoing conversation that Richie and Stan have been having in the background of Indelicate is going to be one of my favorite one-liners, I can feel it. I'm ready to screech about it.
Indelicate | Giovanni + ??
Giovanni stormed through the city streets, infuriated. It wasn't an uncommon feeling; it didn't take much to push him into irritation, and there was nothing quite like having your card declined to create that horrendous mix of frustration and discomfort.
He'd paid with cash, taking the coffee to go and hurrying off on his way. It might've just been a simple mistake—Giovanni hadn't pressed the issue, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention—but he couldn't shake the paranoia that told him he might be being watched. His typically regarded his friends at Interpol as a squadron composed of only the most incompetent agents, but occasionally they came close to something real when Giovanni didn't expect it.
If they'd discovered his account and shut it down, the only thing it accomplished was to kick his paranoia into high gear. Not the most intelligent play, but it was the kind of move he had come to expect from the gaggle of idiots. It was also very inconvenient if it was the case.
He didn't know if he should head back to his apartment, so he'd instead resorted to blending into the lunchtime rush to try and shake the feeling of watchful eyes on him. As he moved through a crowd, however, someone jostled his elbow and caused his still-scalding coffee to splash across his hand. He inhaled sharply and the cup slipped from his grasp, falling to the ground and splattering across his shoe and the bottom of his pants.
His hand was angry red where the liquid had doused it, but he ignored the pain and whirled on the perpetrator, grabbing their arm in a near-crushing grip. “Watch. It,” he seethed, momentarily overcome by his temper.

Hi! I really hope this question doesn't bother you, this isn't meant to stress you out or make you hurry up! It's just that i really love your indelicate fic (It literally made me enjoy fics as a whole and change my perspective!) and I was wondering if you were planning on continuing it or not. Btw, i love your writing as a whole I think you are really talented
Thank you so much!
In a word: Yes, I plan to continue it.
I've had devastating writer's block since 2020, and I'm just starting to feel myself come out of it. I know how Indelicate is meant to go (I've had my outline in place for quite some time) and I even know how the end of the next chapter is meant to go. (I know it's a bit of a cliche to mention "characters talking to the writer," but I've been stalled out a bit on getting Richie & Eddie out of Ben's house, and I was at work this last month and Maggie Tozier started telling me how the big turning point of that chapter was going to go.)
Caveats: I am feeling less passionate about IT than I was when I started Indelicate. My interest has moved to other fandoms, and I have found myself writing for other fandoms, though I have yet to publish these projects. I also have a number of uncompleted IT Works In Progress in addition to Indelicate, which are currently in my drafts but that I intend to make available on AO3 whether or not I finish them (copperbadge does a sort of fic graveyard each year for unused WIPs and I admire that, especially because I believe that derivative work (fanfiction) should never be behind a paywall. Indelicate is fleshed-out enough that it will never end up in a fic graveyard, but it bothers me as well that I have this longstanding popular WIP that so many people (myself included) would like resolution to. I am also working full-time.
This is such a nice ask and not at all an aggressive way of, say, checking my temperature on Indelicate. The support that I got when I was publishing the chapters in sequence in early 2020 was beyond anything I ever dreamed of, and I still appreciate each and every one of my readers, whether or not they have moved on to other fandoms. And the continuing engagement readers have with the fic means a lot to me as well--the immortal word and all that. I remain open to questions about my writing and I do like to hear from people who like my work.
Hi I’m sorry to bother you I’m just a huge fan of your fic Indelicate and I was wondering if you had a timeline for when the next chapter would be published? I don’t wanna stress u out, so no pressure or anything, I just really love this fic. Also just wanted to say that it’s been very healing for me as someone like Eddie who has a lot of walls and anxieties, and to read him work thru that and open up to someone when it’s uncomfortable and gross is..exactly what I need. Anyway I love it thank you bye!!
Hi! This is a lovely message and I'm not bothered to receive it. I'm always flattered when someone reads my work and seeks out my fandom tumblr.
I'm sorry to say that I don't have a timeline for when the next chapter will be published--I know that it's been the longest gap yet. I've been suffering from burnout for some time now, and it's making it difficult for me to write.
Please be assured that I know exactly what happens in Indelicate--at this point, the plot is moving into the final arc of the fic as we leave the safety of Ben's house--and that I do intend to finish the work. I just--am having trouble making the words go, at this point.
Idk why this thought suddenly hit me out of nowhere but I NEED to know what you think Eddie and Richie would make their passwords for emails, social media, etc.
Let me see... I think that Eddie probably underwent some kind of corporate security training and that he changes his password once a month, but it's always in a pattern that he recognizes--so one month it's !atsymbolQWaszx12, and then the next month it's atsymbol#WEsdxc23, and then the month after that it's #$ERdfcv34. This has the downside that Eddie can't remember any of his passwords unless he's looking at a physical computer screen and an alphabetized keyboard (ABCDEFG) is of no use to him, especially on phones. I think that Richie probably picks a word and then slaps a year on it (something I'm in the habit of doing), so after he and Eddie get together it's Spaghedward2017! or something like that. I think in Indelicate he probably has it Ooweeoo2016 but he's constantly forgetting how he spelled ooweeoo so he's always logging in through 2-factor authentication and he never actually gets around to changing the password to something he'll remember.
