Fragments of A Rhyme | Lisa --> Murphy
Being wrenched out of the hospital was disorientating for Lisa. It always was. The feeling of fading, disappearing into nothingness, before opening your eyes to find yourself somewhere else...Lisa hated it.
She, however, couldn't hate the small child who was sitting behind a door, watching her.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked, as Lisa tried to get her bearings back.
"N-nothing...I'm just a little lost." she replied, looking at him. "could you tell me where I am?"
She reached for the doorknob, finding the door locked. "Are you okay? Can you let me in?" she asked the boy, but he only shook his head.
"I can't let you in unless you know the boogeyman rhyme. Maybe if you and that other guy can find it I'll let you in." the boy replied, before turning his attentions back to his toys, ignoring anything else Lisa asked.
Finally, she turned away, and walked back, down a hallway. As she walked, she noticed blood spotting the ground, and without a second thought, started to follow it.
Eventually, she turned a corner to see a man, bleeding, fighting against something. She reached for her scalpels, only to find herself empty handed.
"Damn!" she muttered to herself, before looking for something else.
A brick wasn't her first choice of weapon, but she didn't have much time. She grabbed it in both hands, before striking at the monster.
