26th April 2020.
I was worried about something and this worry took up the entire real estate of my head & heart :D It came to a point where I honestly was kind of giving up even continuing praying for this matter.
Yesterday morning I was so glad that it was a Saturday as I don’t officially work on Saturday’s and could have some quality ‘me-time’ doing the things I love and relax. I had forgotten that I’d subscribed for a lead-talks conference to be held on the 25th! Woke up pretty late and I honestly was not so interested to attend the virtual lead-talks conference because I was low in spirit consumed by my worries.
There were a lot of interesting speakers on the panel from across the globe! Basically most of them touched upon the new normal and life after Covid-19, things to be careful with finance & spending and also brought out the biblical principles to deal with the new norm. Almost towards the end of the sessions, One of the prominent speakers Mr.Anand Pillai started off with a quote by Rick Warren (The author of a best seller, The purpose-driven life).
He said, the more you think about you problems - It’ll turn into worry. The more you think about the word (Bible) it’ll turn into devotion. For some reason it struck a chord in me and immediately Gods Spirit said see that’s exactly what you are doing, turn to God, His word even if He feels like a bazillion miles away.
Go back to the word, Go back to Him who made you. I thought to myself, what ever is worrying you T, speak to the lord about those dark fears in you, about why you think about what your thinking. Let it out and breathe in the word, Go back to His promises, circle and claim and live like you will receive them. Today I also witnessed my first virtual VBS where cute little kids were reciting Hebrews 11:1 - Now Faith is the confidence in what we Hope for and the assurance in what we do not see. A timely reminder for me!
My sister read a verse during our the worship time (virtual church) which is from 2 Timothy 2:13, If we are faithless, He remains faithful for He cannot deny himself. Now I don’t know if you got that part but it literally means His faithfulness can never fail cos that’s contrary to His very nature. I was filled with pure joy when I was reminded about this verse.
I’m sure in the future I would look back to these past few days thinking I really shouldn’t have worried so much, cos really - My confidence is His faithfulness. Amen
PS : I drew this when the lock-down started here in India (Honestly dint like how the pic turned out) Also on a lighter note, do you think that the girls hair in the image looks like the corona virus :D ? I hope not!
