Ancestral healing and intergenerational trauma has been on my mind a lot. It’s come up when intuitives give me readings (like everyone in the past two months has talked to me about my ancestors lmao like ok I get it) and in conversations with other folk who work in the mental health field.
Trauma stays stuck in our bodies, psychology knows this. Unresolved trauma that has impacted our parents and grandparents can be transferred into our bodies and our lives. It can impact the way our brain functions. This is how intergenerational trauma works. We carry things as children that we are not supposed to carry - baggage that is not ours. In the same way (stick with me here), ancestral trauma that gets stuck in our spiritual bodies can shape the way we behave in this world. The blockages that haven’t been resolved in our family’s and our own past lives continue to develop in this lifetime unless we release it, unless we break the cycle. Civilizations before us knew that the mind, body, and spirit are connected and the research is starting to catch up. When we work on healing ourselves, we work on healing all the wounds that were open before us. Your ancestors are supporting you, support them too.

There’s nothing more powerful than a set full of indigenous goddesses. Yesterday, I was initiated into the Indigenous Goddess Gang. I’ve been a major fan of @indigenousgoddessgang since I found them on IG a few years ago. Helping Kim, @thamu_tsan and our tribe bring Marquel’s vision to life during an epic 12-hr. photo shoot was truly an honor. (Check out my IG story for backstage access to the shoot.) Collaborating, sharing stories and celebrating our indigenous roots on set yesterday was a blast. As I drove home last night, I couldn’t help but think of how incredibly talented, compassionate and hardworking every single human was on set. Even Kai, Marquel’s little one, immediately transformed from a rising actress into a professional PA after she noticed her momma directing the production. That was a perfect example of how most Natives live and work in flow with the environment without hesitation. Since the beginning of time, Natives apply what our ancestors taught us to bring epic visions to life despite limited resources. Once the 🌎 learns how phenomenal most indigenous women are, we’ll begin to see a lot more female indigenous leaders who really do pave the way for other humans to rise. It was amazing working with all of you, nizhóní girls. 💕🙏🏽 I can’t wait until the final results of the shoot are revealed soon. Thanks for reading and your continued support. 🦄 @tsailii . . . . #tsailii #photoshoot #model #indigenousgoddessgang #modeling #nativeamerican #newmexicotrue (at New Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwAKc88nw7N/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=66khqhpzux5o
