some of us wouldn't mind having a horse in the system. unfortunately this happened months ago and i'm starting to lose hope
anon bc im shy and have no sys blog, just wanted to say ur (collective) comics have rly helped me/us during the diagnosis rollercoaster this year, im p sure theyre the reason some of us have started feeling comfortable drawing/journaling more openly among ourselves. ik how much thought and feeling prob goes into sharing these things, so i just wanted to say thanks for doing so + the pseudo-stick-figure style and eye shapes are so charming :)
we don't usually respond to these kinds of asks, but... this one really touched us. it makes us very happy to know that we've helped you in that way.
thank you to everyone who's sent us asks saying that you like our comics, we read and appreciate every single one.
I have a friend of a friend that recently discovered they have DID. The other alters lack morals so said friend has to push them out of front constantly to make sure they don't hurt themselves or someone else. I do not have DID and am unsure how they can be helped. As a system do you have any advice?
hey anon. idk who you are, as is the point of anon, but seeing as i have a grand total of maybe four entire followers (/exaggerating) you must be in the god damn trenches.
our experience with persecutors is... unique, maybe? most of our active antagonizers are surrounded by people much stronger than them, and if they threatened bodily harm they were quickly "dealt with" in one way or another to preserve the body's safety, which our brain seems to treat like hosting a ship in among us cause it keeps ejecting our really harmful persecutors. the only lasting ones are Shin, who's only a danger to himself, one who doesn't want me to reveal her name yet, who has to be terribly triggered into being awful and impulsive, and... Mal, who was gone for a long time until maybe 12 hours ago, so what timing huh? mal's our most antagonistic persecutor by far, but literally today i got her to chill out and leave me alone by acknowledging it and helping it make a profile on pk.
alters are, at the end of the day, a product of a very very very troubled mind. im no spokesperson for did in any capacity, i know persecutors we've had to wrangle sharp objects away from, and persecutors that just happen to hold some less than savory emotions, tendencies, etc. its a wide label. grain of salt and all that.
so my very tentative advice, because this isnt a Whole lot of info, is to ask "yourself" (or your friend of a friend, if you know them like that) why these alters have formed in this way and what they seem to want. is it attention? validation? a punching bag, an outlet? if their goal is to harm the body, why is that? etc etc. everyone has a motive. even if these alters are barely-formed fragments who have scarcely any personality or otherwise except harm, there's almost always a reason for that. and if your friend of a friend has many of these extremely antagonistic alters, it can speak of many unresolved issues. some people think the only way they can be heard is to hurt.
again, all of this with a grain of salt, and power-of-friendship-ing is easier said than done lmao. if it can be done at all! i dont have extended experience with extremely harmful alters except for one outside of my system and i dont have much advice based on that either, and this message is vague as hell (not a bad thing) which makes my advice less specific. it's also 6 in the morning so my wording likely isn't the best its ever been. but maybe this will be helpful?
