Are there any poems/works of Mayakovsky's that you recommend? I've seen your posts about him, and my interest is piqued (it's alright if they're in russian, by the way)

I really love his poem - Послушайте! - Listen! - it’s filled with such poignancy, one man’s desperate search for meaning that takes him all the way up to God himself. 

Another one of Mayakovsky’s works which I find very powerful is Облако в Штанах - Cloud in Trousers. Conflict and passion pulse equally throughout this long poem, as a young man seeks to have a lasting impact on the world while also struggling in his love life. 

I also like his Стихи о советском паспорте – Verses about a Soviet Passport. It’s masterfully written, the way he embeds his love and pride for his proletarian nation into a poem about the customs line at a border crossing!

For those new to Mayakovsky’s aesthetic, I suggest checking out this incredible video, a light show in honor of Vladimir Mayakovsky and the Futurist movement.
