Sneak Peek: FemmeFest Proves to be Thought Provoking at IF Theatre
The first rehearsal for Listen to Your Mother Indy happened today. I am SO excited to be a part of it! If you are wondering about the perfect Mother’s Day Gift, this is it. The stories are vulnerable and real. This is a very special cast. There are just 100 seats available! May 11,2019. Unsolicited review. IndyFringe 2015 #sansbeard #cardmonkey #IndyFringe (at IndyFringe)
Why Savage?
SAVAGE AT LAST came from a desire to produce raw, challenging, and visceral literary and theatrical art to growing creative communities. Savage is thrilled by the fringe. This, at the heart, is what I want theater to be in this city: gritty, grueling, raw, and promising. Pieces, performance or otherwise, which challenge an audience at the core and leave minds in the seat long after the doors close.
At the moment, this city is Indianapolis, Indiana. A pivotal mark on the landscape of a midwest that thirsts for challenging thought. This “Savage” is practicing going all-in. Today, Indy. Tomorrow? Well, you’ll have to stick around to see.
Because the Savage desire is about laying claim to every truth of living, every raw, unpolished aspect that proves evidence that the human condition is brave.
SAVAGE AT LAST starts this year and the Indianapolis Fringe Festival, but plans to go as far as literary and educational opportunities provoke.
Hello my beautiful followers! (All 3 of you. But you know what? I'll take it.)
I'm live-blogging tonight, shoot me questions about theatre, life, art, cats, whatever.
This is the first year in like six years that I'm not in a fringe show or working as a fringe tech :( I'm still gonna at least see a couple shows though
Our show got a 4.5 star review in NUVO!!!!
The King & I: A Hunk of Burnin' Love Schedule C Productions ★★★★1/2 There's something quintessentially American about the transformation of Melvin MacGillicuddy into one Melvis Praisely. MacGillicuddy becomes Praisely when his grandmother emerges from a coma after she hears Presley's 1957 Christmas album. Inspired by his grandmother's awakening, he forms a church dedicated to the King. At this time, Praisely finds a kindred spirit in a young woman by the name of LisaMarie. Praisley's downfall mimics Presley's, as he pines for LisaMarie between popping pills and alternately singing into - and taking bites out of - his fried chicken microphone. The opening performance had some technical glitches, but I couldn't help falling in love with this very funny production.
So. So. SO HAPPY!
