Spreading out to do an intense biology session.
I am a cat lover.
I love dogs too, but that's a different love. And really not at all comparable in my heart.
A cat is your bestie, your salty bitch of friend, spy, accidental comedian and commentator on your sad lack of a life.
A dog is a happy 3 yr old who never runs out of energy and tells you they love you every five seconds while you clean up their shit.
So. I went to visit family one state over. Was staying for a week or so. Met this nice cat Mr Miles, a shaggy bony orange kitty with a raspy whiny meow and nails sharp enough to pierce ears. And.....fell in love.
Miles would wait at the end of the driveway for me to come out and give him pets. He would skulk in the bushes and balefully glare at other cats to piss right off cos I was his human and he wasn't sharing.
Couldn't let him in the house cos of allergies but I'd spend an hour on the porch in the evenings sitting on cold concrete getting my legs stabbed until my butt went numb. Cat love is good love. If cats love you you know you're special. Cos they just don't put up with anyone's bs.
I thought he was a stray. But he had a fancy tracker on his collar with his name and two numbers. It's October and it's getting cold at night and I was worried. Turns out he has a home and a loving family ( we are not going to discuss families that let their cats roam. I'm a vet tech nuff said).
And he's 16. He's sixteen and he likes to roam the neighborhood. He's already brought me two rats and a mouse. Yeah he's a lil banged up from getting into it with other cats but on the whole he's in pretty good shape. I'm impressed. 16 and he loves doing the rounds as his fam says.
Anyways I head back home for two weeks and then head back down. I even bring a few cans of cat food as a small treat.
No Miles.
I start to worry. So I contact the owners cos (like a psycho I saved their number ). "Hey haven't seen Miles around, is he doing okay?" I mean he IS 16 after all. 'Oh yeah he's fine, came in late last night, he's sleeping on the bed'.
Now I have two reactions simultaneously .
Reaction one: burst into tears of relief
Reaction two: that lousy bastard. I'm here eating my heart out over him and he's sleeping in bed!?!?!
I'm already in therapy.
Maybe it's time I got my own cat.
If you ask me how my day is, I swear, I will tell you. #whatiswrongwiththesepeople #whywouldyouaskmethat #areyounuts #theaudacityofstupid #ineedacat #oradog #canIjustgohomenow (at Los Angeles Police Academy)

Thinking abt redecorating my room. But I gotta study like, right now. It needs a new look, new sheets, new furniture & less dust. I have a quiz tmr and exams in 2 weeks. Was thinking of throwing out the old bookshelf or maybe just going down to IKEA and get random furniture. Case laws are getting on my nerves this semester. Would love to throw a bunch of stuff out like the paper bags that's shoved beside the cupboard. Not at all thinking abt applying to Murdoch Uni. Maybe I'll go with white furniture this time.
