To the other side,

Whether you see it the same or not, we did watch Aziraphale and Crowley agreeing to never exist anymore. It is valid for people to see this as suicide. Sure, you do not agree. It doesn't mean people are being negative when they share how they saw the decision and how badly it affected them.

I find it insensitive that many of you are dismissing people who saw it as suicide. You don't see it that way, but there are many who do! And some even reacted badly to it. Should they see a therapist? Yes. And many of them did. Yet you still talk about people who got affected by this like they are babies who can not handle a bad ending.

Dismissing the real trauma the Finale is causing is not the kind of behavior I expect from the GO fandom at all.

You tell us to censor our "negative talks," but you are eager to share gif of AziCrow evaporating and calling it beautiful without any tagging or warnings. If anyone ask for a cw you just say they are being a hater.

By the way, I find it disturbing that there are some of you who treated on-screen suicide as beautiful and as the only way for them to truly be free.

Would you go to a suicidal person and tell them that?

Idealisation of suicide is not good.

I found this message from the GO Finale to be extremely dangerous. As someone who had these thoughts before, I tell you that "If I end my life right now, maybe in the next life things will be better and I will be able to live my life how I wanted." Was exactly what went on in my head as I contemplated introducing my vehicle to a nearby truck.

I do not hope to change your mind. I am sharing my thoughts about this situation to tell you that by ignoring and dismissing people who got hurt by the Finale, you are doing more harm than good.

To me, the Finale should have had a hotline placed over the whole decisiom making and evaporating scene because there are people who were severely hurt by its suicidal message and still are.

Hello Ineffable fandom!

The idea of this blog is to be a collection of submitted letters from fans to Crowley and/or Aziraphale, other characters within the show, the show itself, the fandom, or even to the authors, venting frustration about Gaiman or loving Terry, or anything else. Just any sort of thing you wish you could say to the characters or creators, or people involved. They dont have to be high-effort or even formatted like a standard letter it could literally just be "fuck you gaiman" or it could be several paragraphs of text.

You can send anonymously, send more than one, or send photos of physical letters if you want to write one. If you do want to send a photo of a letter, I do just request that you also include a transcript of it in your ask.

The point of this is to help people get any feelings about the show, or its creators or fanbase out into the open to process any grief or love, or other feelings you may have about Good Omens. This is a judgement-free space and anyone harassing others or spreading any sort of hate or interpersonal drama will be blocked. General complaints about fandom etiquette are okay, but attacking (directly or indirectly) specific users or referencing specific drama is not.

Other than that, essentially anything goes. I hope this helps to spread joy and healing for anyone who submits letters, or engages with other people's, and may Moist Von Lipwig carry your letter to whoever needs to see it 💜

Hello,

I have been seeing people urging Finale Haters to go see therapists and try to think positively. I appreciate the thought, and I am sure many of us are doing so. I just want to say something that I feel should be taken into account:

Not all therapists are good at dealing with fandom issues. And not all of them have suitable methods. Sometimes, you are unfortunate and have a therapist who doesn't really understand. Fandom things are often taken lightly by non-fandom people. I think a therapist is advised but not always the best option.

Also, another thing: People deal with feelings differently.

You see, not everyone responds well with "think positive." Some people, like me, as I have learned recently from GO3 discourse, deal with this grief better by talking to people who think the same, reading posts from other people with the same view and just... hear a friend say, "Yeah! That was bad!"

People who tried to tell me to think positive or started getting concerned over me end up making me feel worse unintentionally. So I believe that we are allowed to be able to discuss our own feelings and criticise this show together in public where people like me can see and feel like they are not alone.

As long as Haters and Enjoyers don't go into each other's spaces to argue about who is right or wrong, both sides should be allowed to discuss publicly how they feel.

It is sad that the whole "go find a new fandom if it upset you so much" happened. We don't want to leave. We are mad at the Finale because we love Good Omens so much. I am sure both sides love Good Omens, in our own ways.

Let's try to respect each other, please.

If a Hater use Temuverse in their own space and with their own friends, it is not a personal attack against you. It is how we deal with this, making jokes and discussing problems we see.

If an Enjoyer think it's so beautiful about an ending, in their own space, I hope fellow Haters leave them alone like I do. I only engage if I see a civil discussion space or if I see mistreatment toward someone (regardless of side).

Honestly, as I have said on Bluesky, I don't see the point of asking for Asanthony to be not tagged Ineffable Husbands anymore. Keep asking for it, no matter how civil we are, is easily spun into us being gatekeeping when we just want better tagging and filter. I just hope that if you care about fans who don't like them, be mindful of tagging to make sure the mute tag option work well.

I still think cw for the decision scene is good etiquette. Maybe if you don't see it as suicide, you can tag it as cw: the decision or something concrete that people can mute.

That's all I am suggesting. I hope we get through this tough time.

Letter to the fandom as a whole,

I know we are all having strong opinions right now. I would like to remind you all that we are fighting each other while leaving the terrible people who ruined the story get away with it.

The real villain is not the other fan on the other side of the fandom who you disagree with.

It is the original writer of the script, the new lazy writers who didn't bother doing homework, the cash grabbing merchs that were marketted like an important plot point, the heartless Prime accounts who shared kissing video to hype people up despite there being none of that in the Finale, the ragebaity wallpaper album that included Joshua & AziCrow's moment of annihilation as if that's not images of beloved characters dying...

I can go on.

The big corporation doesn't care, and they are pitting us against each other for views/engagements.

Keep that in mind.

I hope the fandom gets better eventually.

Dear grievers and complainers,

Do not listen to people telling you to stop complaining and expressing your grief. Do not let them insinuate you’re hurting queer rep in future media. Queer rep - same as queer people - is in danger right now. There’s no two ways about it. But trust me: if media execs decide to make us even more invisible, it won’t be because you complained once too often in a tumblr post. In a time of worldwide right-wing backlash against progressive movements, that’s ridiculous abuser logic. Don’t fall for it.

[if anything, media execs deal in attention, good and bad. They know we hate-watch stuff. They know what kind of buzz large fandoms can create and how we can carry niche content into the mainstream. The worst thing for them would be if we stopped talking about it.]

Complain as much as you want and need. I for one love reading it. It helps me with my own grief. Makes me feel like there is still a community here that has a place for me and that won’t judge me for my pain and won’t tell me I’m too much or that my feelings are inappropriate. You see? By talking about your pain, you’re actually helping others. It’s a good thing. As long as it still helps you too, of course.

There’s no time limit. A someone else pointed out in comments, the first legit modern day fanworks came about because people couldn’t cope with Sherlock Homes‘ death ten years after the fact. Ten. Years. And they’re still going!

So please, let it all out. Make memes funny to the sardonic and the ones with gallows humor. Complain, whine, moan, wax poetically or prosaically. I want to hear it, and I know for sure I’m not the only one.

I'm so deeply, endlessly sad, bone tired, and and I'm so sick of feeling like this. I'm a fully grown middle aged person with a family and a job and a mortgage and all those things, and I think about you every day. I swear blind I'm experiencing actual grief. I go about my day doing normal, boring things, and then I remember that you're dead. And I know you're not dead because you're not real, but I feel like I've lost someone.

I see no beauty in your sacrifice. I feel no connection to the humans that wear your faces. You are dead and gone, and I have to move on. I know I will. I've gotten over worse. But I think a small part of me will miss you forever, and I hate that I feel like this.

Aziraphale dear, Thank you so much for every time you were there when I wanted to hurt myself. With your whimsy and your delight in humanity and your trust and your softness. You always gently remind me that there are things to look forward to even amid all the pain and uncertainty. Even if I feel like I don't understand the world or how to navigate it, I take comfort that even you, a clever, strong, kind angel sometimes don't. And you laugh about it or make amends. Or both. And you keep going. And. So I will try too. I won't ever accept you are not in this world. I know for a fact you keep enjoying your sushi and desserts and your demon who worships you.
