My household has been rewatching the original Matrix movies in preparation to see the new one. This idea popped into my brain day before yesterday and refuses to leave, and @hope-inthedark has refused to do the responsible thing and discourage me.
If I did "Aziraphale and Crowley attempt to keep an eye on the One but don’t realize for 11 years that they’ve got the wrong kid” for realsies it would be a fic, but this bit makes me laugh, so here it is. Crowley would one million percent wear Trinity catsuits inside the Matrix. (Aziraphale would dress basically like canon except with adorably goofy-looking sunglasses.)
Aziraphale hurries across the room as he speaks, taking the books from Crowley and starting to look through them. They’re in even better condition than he’d hoped, and he can’t resist a gleeful smile any more than he can resist an excited little bounce on his toes. “Oh! Lovely! Look, the color plates are all intact in this copy!”
“Very lovely.”
There’s something in Crowley’s voice, something that distracts Aziraphale from the prospect of more reading, and he glances down at the still-kneeling figure. Crowley is digging through the bag again, though, his eyes on that task.
I drew a couple of lovesick fishmen from chapter 1 of the Little Mermaid/Shadow Over Innsmouth AU no one asked for (except nicnacsnonsense)! Fishziraphale is a little shorter and fatter than my human and/or ethereal Aziraphales, and has gills, unusually large and vibrant eyes, and webbed fingers. Croweely (Crowfish? Fishley?) is a little taller and ganglier than human and/or occult Crowley, and has scales over parts of his body. For now I basically drew ‘em like usual otherwise. Right down to hand-drawing that ding-danged tartan once again.
I’m trying to find a style where I’m not attempting to reproduce two specific actors’ exact faces, but where you can still tell who the characters are. Still haven’t got it down yet. At least I think I’m finally figuring out Aziraphale’s hair!
The pattern of the strap on Crowley’s bag is on purpose and whoever can guess what it is wins one shiny angel-wing mug of cocoa (metaphorically).
[Edit to ask that y’all please not reblog my art to a ki//nk blog, thanks]
A little over a week ago I asked for anonymous art prompts again. Today I have an art! About thirty hours on this one. Much faster when I don’t have an entire room of the bookshop as background. This time the challenge was to go completely without photo references for the faces, and I think it turned out pretty good.
I’m going to throw this into the ButterOmens thing if people are still doing that? It confuses me, so hopefully I am doing this right.
I just wound up using one prompt, because the mental image grabbed me by the spleen and wouldn’t let go.
Kinda odd, but did you ever see the movie Ghost? It has this cheesy part where ghost Patrick Swayze helps not-ghost Demi Moore make pottery on a wheel. He kinda guides her hands while spirit-spooning her. Well how about Crowley teaching Aziraphale how to repot a plant that needs a bigger space to grow with the same adorably loving spooning? So much beautiful, fat angel to cuddle while repotting. No ghost Crowley, though, cause that would be awful.😭
I’ve never seen the movie, but I was aware of the scene from soaking in American pop culture for approximately thirty-nine years. Crowley is definitely 100% alive here. (Even though I found the scene on YouTube, and Patrick Swayze’s ghost appears to be able to move furniture and mess up pottery and kiss Demi Moores, so I’m not sure why it matters that he was a ghost? Whatever. No ghosts here.)
The plant is the one that lived on my desk at work until we all had to start working from home.
Thank you very much, person who suggested that prompt!
Three weeks ago, I requested anonymous drawing prompts. Today, I have this drawing to share. I... do not know how fancy of an art person you have to be to say “hey this is a dtiys”, probably fancier than I am, but I would be over the moon and halfway to Alpha Centauri itself if anyone else wanted to draw this in their style and then throw me a mention. (Your style doesn’t have to include the complicated background. My style doesn’t include the complicated background. I don’t know what I was thinking other than “yes I would love to spend sixty-ish hours on one artwork again, gosh, let’s do that”.)
I wound up pulling in ideas from five prompts...
Art prompt: Aziraphale in a cozy sweater and fuzzy socks and cocoa :3
Are fuzzy slippers okay? Also, the mug absolutely has cocoa in it if you want it to!
For art suggestion.... Aziraphale and Crowley getting a ton of different flavors of girl scout cookies and having a cookie tasting.
The cookies on the table are Tagalongs. Not Peanut Butter Patties. Tagalongs.
For your art ask: Aziraphale sharing room under a tartan blanket with Crowley. They are on a sofa and Aziraphale is reading and Crowley is napping against him, soaking up lovely softness.
The tartan blanket is not in use yet. Sooner or later, though, a certain someone is going to start getting pouty about how he’s cold, angel, why in Heaven do you keep it so cold in here, do you expect poor little demons to freeze, and then the blanket is going to get wrapped around the both of them, either over on the sofa (not pictured), or with Crowley just climbing up on Aziraphale’s lap right where he sits.
Art prompt: Aziraphale comfortable sat in a chair with a good book and tea and maybe a blanket or plate of cookies. Like maybe Crowley just came in and that’s the first image he sees of his angel, just so happy and in his element of books and food and comfort
Chair! Book! Tea if you would like it to be tea! Blanket and cookies! Crowley just came in a bit ago is all.
Crowley looking at Aziraphale, absolutely smitten OR Aziraphale rolling up his sleeves and Crowley dying over forearm
I hope the smitten-ness comes across.
Thank you very much to everyone who submitted an anonymous drawing prompt. I love you all. And I also love everyone who didn’t submit a prompt. Just full of love over here, I am.
I wanted to do this dtiys by @pinkpiggy93 pretty much as soon as I first saw it, but I didn’t actually get a chance to for over a month. It was enjoyable! One (1) angel and one (1) demon, smooching. Yes. Good. Thank you, OP.
A dented key shone dully in the shade of the bandstand.
Crowley looked at it, and thought he could feel a matching shine start up somewhere inside himself. “That’s. No.”
Aziraphale held it out to him. No pout, no imploring eyes. No head tucked down as he looked up through soft lashes, double chin creasing deep enough to bury Crowley’s heart in. His eyes still glimmered with tears, but they were steady.
“You see. The shop is my home and my livelihood both, beloved, and it holds every material object I possess. And I know I can trust you with it.” He ignored the little noise Crowley made, kept gazing up at him with unwavering eyes. “I choose to let you in. I — I ask you to consider it home.”
Here is the art for chapter 22 of If Not Now, When. It is, finally, not just a colorized sketch, because I have a lovely pen display on which I can ink to my heart’s content.
Featuring the scarf that Aziraphale gave Crowley waaaay back in chapter 9.
