This morning, I asked the cards "How do I achieve my dreams?" I’m so excited! I got my Infernal Tarot deck today! 🎇 A little while ago, Erik of Infernal Tarot was holding a contest for Halloween. The winner would receive a limited-edition exclusive version of the deck. I had backed The Infernal Tarot on Kickstarter when it first came out and I love the deck. It pulls its drawings from the Dictionaire Infernal, a two-hundred-year-old book of wiatchcraft and magick. I love the deck so much and it’s become one of my go to decks. 🌟 Well, imagine my surprise when I won the contest! I never win anything! Erik was kind enough to send me the special deck, a monochrome version of the original deck which had coloured illustrations. I love it so much! It feels like I’m somehow holding a deck from times gone by and the illustrations somehow have more depth because of the monochrome colouring. ✨ The deck has the same gorgeous back but is gilded in silver this time around. The cardstock is still wonderful and bendy, perfect for those that like to riffle shuffle and the art is so wonderful. It feels like I’m handling an actual tool of magic and I can’t wait to use this deck! This evening, I asked the cards “What do I need to know about the path that I am on?” I drew Strength, the 5 of Swords and the 2 of Cups from The Infernal Tarot. 🌟 Looking at these cards, I see my life reflected back at me. Even with everything that I have going on, I’m still trying to do everything, balancing work with health, writing, and living. I often feel as if I’m carrying too much but I’m so hard on myself when I have to let something go. I have to realize that I can’t hold on to everything all the time, I don’t have to *do* everything. I *am* strong, but there’s no need to prove it all the time. I need to stop being hard on myself and remember that each step I am taking on this journey is made easier by the people in my life that love me. 🌟 Whenever I see the 2 of Cups, I think of my Beautiful Husband. It was the card I drew the day after we met all those years ago. Even though it’s been eight years, it still feels like I met him last month. He is the reason that I can finally see myself as I really am. There is a legacy here, one that was built on strong foundations built with love. This morning, I asked the cards "What do I need to know today?" I drew the King of Cups, the 7 of Wands and the Queen of Cups from the Infernal Tarot. 🍵 The King sits on his throne looking out at the world with a regal air. He holds his cup and a yellow rose. He is kind and compassionate and balanced emotions. He symbolizes kindness and a deeper connection to my emotions, He is wise and affectionate with others and with himself and has a creative spirit. He writes with his emotions and his heart. I will embrace his traits today and embody his compassion towards myself. I also think of my husband when I look at this card. 🍵 The 7 of Wands shows the Green Man of the forest. He stands in a defensive pose and he is guarding his forest and his home. He is letting me know that the path I am currently on is to defend my spirit and to protect it. The spirit is the fire that burns from within and right now, I need to protect it and keep it safe. While I am going through this emotional journey, I can't neglect the flame that burns within. I must protect myself. 🍵 The Queen of Cups sits on her throne. She looks at the world kindly and she is compassionate. She is generous with her emotions and is very wise with the way that she looks at the world. She is a visionary, able to see deep into the emotions of others and herself. She is able to look at the whole of a situation and to see the light within it. She holds wisdom and balance in her Cup.
