This morning, I asked the cards "How can I let go of self doubt?" I drew the 5, 10 and Ace of Wands from The Infernal Tarot. That's a whole lot of fire! 🔥 I really see a journey in these cards. The 5 of Wands shows people fighting for reasons that don't really matter. There are always those people who will doubt your validity or the skill you have. I have to stop letting other people validate what I do and even more importantly, I have to stop fighting against myself and my spirit. The fire comes from within. 🔥 The 10 of Wands is all about the weight of that self doubt. It's a lot of work to carry other people's opinions and thoughts and even more work to carry your own weight of self doubt, of not being good enough at what you do. I need to look at the ten Wands and look at what I've learned about myself along the way so that I can put them down and start on a new journey. 🔥 That new journey comes in the Ace of Wands. It's a beginning, the creative spark in a new creative project or endeavour. It's very fitting that the card shows someone walking down a path towards whatever will come. This morning, I asked the cards "What do I need to know today?" I drew the King of Cups, the 7 of Wands and the Queen of Cups from the Infernal Tarot. 🍵 The King sits on his throne looking out at the world with a regal air. He holds his cup and a yellow rose. He is kind and compassionate and balanced emotions. He symbolizes kindness and a deeper connection to my emotions, He is wise and affectionate with others and with himself and has a creative spirit. He writes with his emotions and his heart. I will embrace his traits today and embody his compassion towards myself. I also think of my husband when I look at this card. 🍵 The 7 of Wands shows the Green Man of the forest. He stands in a defensive pose and he is guarding his forest and his home. He is letting me know that the path I am currently on is to defend my spirit and to protect it. The spirit is the fire that burns from within and right now, I need to protect it and keep it safe. While I am going through this emotional journey, I can't neglect the flame that burns within. I must protect myself. 🍵 The Queen of Cups sits on her throne. She looks at the world kindly and she is compassionate. She is generous with her emotions and is very wise with the way that she looks at the world. She is a visionary, able to see deep into the emotions of others and herself. She is able to look at the whole of a situation and to see the light within it. She holds wisdom and balance in her Cup. Yesterday was a monumental day of change in the world. It marks a shift in the world. Yesterday was the first day in a new wave. So today I asked the cards "How do I celebrate the coming change?" I drew The Fool, The World and The Knight of Wands from The Infernal Tarot. 💖 The Fool starts us on a new journey down a new path. He is charmingly innocent and hopeful, venturing out into the brave new world with open arms and open eyes. I love this card. It lets me know that there was indeed a shift and that today we are beginning again. I will celebrate this new cycle that we are on and the new beginning. 💖 The World shows me a woman at peace, her arms spread in welcome serenity. This card celebrates a harmonizes body, mind and spirit. This is an ending of one journey and the beginning of a new one for myself and for everyone in the world right now. This card asks me to celebrate the optimism that I am feeling right now as I look at my path forward. 💖 The Knight of Wands moves forward. He is adventurous and brave, looking at the world not as one to conquer but to explore. He looks at the world with kindness and compassion, wanting to explore all that it has to offer. He can tire quickly from so much enthusiasm but his heart is so big and full of love. I will embrace these traits today as I celebrate change. This morning, I asked the cards "How can I check in with my spirit today?" I drew the King of Cups, the 7 of Wands and the King of Swords from The Infernal Tarot. 🍷 The King of Cups sits regally on his throne. He holds his Cup in one hand and a yellow rose in the other. He looks out at me with a knowing look on his face. He is kind and considerate and is a master of his emotions. The sea of emotions within him is calm and balanced. This card is asking me to check in with my spirit by taking a look at the emotions that are currently residing within me. The King reminds me that I am the master of my emotions, not the other way around. 🗡 The 7 of Wands shows the Green Man of the forest. He is a protector and a saviour of the forest and all that dwell within it. As I enter the forest, he asks me if I am friend or foe. This card is asking me to take a look at my relationship with my spirit. The Wands symbolize the fire of the spirit. How brightly does mine burn? Am I in a constant fight with myself? In order to check in with my spirit, I have to take a look at how much I nurture it and how hard I am on myself. I don't have to fight with myself, I just have to love myself and that starts at the root where my spirit resides. ⭐ The King of Swords greets me with a look of respect. He stands with a crown on his head worn at an angle and a Sword is on his hip. Just as the King of Cups is the master of his emotions, the King of Swords is the master of his mind. He is wise and thoughtful and he is creative, a writer and a teacher. He is kind, though sometimes he can be a little nearsighted. He is asking me to take a look at my own thoughts. I can only be master of my mind when the unkindness stops. I can check in with my spirit today by taking a look at how I think of myself and changing those thought patterns. This morning, I asked the cards "How can I celebrate the day?" I drew the Page of Swords, the 8 of Pentacles and the 4 of Swords from The Infernal Tarot. 🗡 The Page of Swords is a student and a writer. He is intelligent and though he has not attained the level of wisdom of his counterparts, he is enthusiastic about his craft. Words are lifeblood to him. He is thoughtful and loves to talk to others to find out more about the world. 🗡 The 8 of Pentacles is the next step in the journey. The student must work at his craft for he is always learning. He works diligently at his craft, finding pleasure and gratification from his work. This card asks me to get to work and remember to find the joy within my words. 🗡 The 4 of Swords shows four friends standing around a friend who is resting. This card is asking me to give myself a mental rest and not to be so hard on myself. Writing is my joy and punishing myself about my words is counterproductive. I need to stop the negative thoughts and embrace the joy once more. This morning, I asked the cards "How can I celebrate the day?" I drew the Sun, the 9 of Wands and Justice from the Infernal Tarot. 🌞 The Sun is pure joy. A child rides a dragon, the Sun shining above them. This card symbolizes clarity and personal growth. The Sun shines down on everything, bringing light where there was once shadow. It helps me to see further and decide where I want to go. It also holds so much joy and happiness and reminds me that I have so much to be joyful about. 🌞 The 9 of Wands shows me a man who has fallen, his Wand nearby. Another man on a horse threatens him. This card symbolizes spiritual exhaustion. The spirit is tired from so much trauma and the journey has been long. However, this part of the journey is almost done. I have to get up and keep going. I'm almost at my goal. 🌞 Justice shows me an old woman stands ready to make her proclamation, her hand outstretched and a crow perched over her shoulder. There is a decision to be made, a choice that will change my path. The crow brings knowledge while the glasses the woman wears bring clarity and the roots of the tree bring grounding. Whatever choice I make it will bring relief and a path forward. This morning, I asked the cards "How can I sparkle today?" The events of yesterday have left me shaken and I need to sparkle brightly once more. I drew the Fool, the Queen of Cups and the 4 of Swords from The Infernal Tarot. 🌟 The Fool is the beginning of a new journey and the start of a new cycle. He starts down his path wirh a light step and the innocence of purity. What I'm getting from this card is that I may have to look in the world in a new and different way, but that I can't sparkle. As I walk down this new road, I still have to approach everything with light, especially darkness. 🌟 The Queen of Cups is kindness. She looks at everything in the world with a loving heart and shares what she can with the world around her. She has worked hard to get what she has, but that doesn't stop her from being kind. She shines with a light that comes from within and people are drawn to it. I will embrace her kindness today. 🌟 The 4 of Swords is a mental rest. Four friends surround a fifth that has succumbed and needs rest. I have to turn away in order to rest my mind and take a moment to find my centre. I need to remember that the world is more than hate, it is love too. Oh my goodness! My Infernal Tarot came! I backed it on Kickstarter last year. The Infernal Tarot is by Erik Pollitt and it's gorgeous. The illustrations come from a book of witchcraft, the Dictionaire Infernal, that is over 200 years old. The cards are a matte linen finish and they have this old world feel to them.
