Destiny Revisited (closed RP with @infinite-unleashed )

The day had been long, the realities of ruling a kingdom recovering from war taking their toll on the man chosen to lead by trial of combat. His weathered orange eyes hung heavy from fatigue as he looked over his throne room, empty aside from his aides for the first time in what felt like a lifetime.

He rose wearily from his impressive throne, ten thick tails draping behind him like the train of a bridal gown as he made his way out through the immense stone doors of ebony and silver and to his most treasured place, a small garden which had miraculously survived untouched despite decades of devastation and bloodshed.

He took a deep breath to drink in the idyllic calm of the peace now around him, the sights of this paradise always fit to calm him in times of great stress. With a hard thud he laid himself under the sheltering limbs of an Ironwood tree, the sweet floral scent of the buds soon innuring him to all but his own thoughts and what he could see.

It normally isn’t this quiet. Not /this/ quiet. Violet hadn’t visited Infinite, and months upon months had passed since the silence began. Infinite decided to check up on her, and he discovered her home had been broken into, and had been trashed beyond repair. Who did this? She must have been kidnapped, and its been 7 months since she had been missing.

Little did he know, Dr. Eggman had taken her, and slowly began to erase her memories, manipulating her into a weapon of mass destruction. And she, at this point in time, didn’t seem to notice anything wrong, and went about her duties, trapped inside his lair.

“So now that we’re actually here in peace and quiet, tell me Infinite, how have things been going for you?” Dan still wasn’t entirely sure if he could completely trust Infinite, nor did he fully classify him as a ‘friend’ knowing how the worst of Infinite’s desires would still get the better of him at times.

Yet all Dan could do was try to support and help him, he’d promised to help the jackal in his time of need after seeing the truth about him and he wasn’t one to break promises.

“You look much better compared to when I last saw you, I’m glad that you recovered from your ordeal.”

It was a dark, cold night. Heaven just wanted to find a shelter because he was afraid in the dark and his flashlight would soon run out of power. He had been traveling a long time and did not know how far away the next city was. But luckily he found an old, secluded hut. As it looked so deserted, Heaven thought he was alone there, so he slowly pushed the door open. He went in and put down his bag. “ Well....this will be okay tonight..”, he  muttered to himself.

{Infinite Wishes}

The female hedgehog felt the air she breathed choked her like walking through the beyond hot flames while trying to consume fresh air.

“Seems that I found you...” 

It took a bit after finding this odd looking gemstone but the powers rushing through the palm of her hand couldn’t be ignored no matter how hard she tried. Hell, it even reacted slightly by glowing on and off like a flame being kissed by the wind.

“Why the hell would you have this...hmm...?”

Tell me, are you the owner or wieldier of the gemstone? If so then your powers are very.... chaotic...”  Having lived for a long time this isn’t something that anyone would be willing to even mess around with its distorted powers.

Not even she would dare bother with... not wanting to get greedy with all everything already within her fingertips.

A significant amount of time would pass before the two would meet again, during that time Dan had gone through his own ordeals and problems a little further. While he did remember what he said to Infinite, Dan did not have any success in tracking down an emerald or to where Infinite had even gone.

Thoughts would always drift back to the jackal on occasion, wondering how they were doing and if they had more success than himself, or more importantly.....were they trying to redeem themselves still? or had they given in entirely to that anger and lust for power?

One particular day as the demon in disguise travelled along on his own personal mission against his true enemy, Dan didn’t think or even quite realise that he was wandering into the area he’d met Infinite all that time ago. Even if Infinite remained similar in appearance the effects of time had clearly dawned on Dan considering just how rough and ruined he seemed.

“Well if it isn't everyone’s favourite masked jackal? How are you feeling today Infinite?”

Dan had already become accustomed to a few variants of Infinite at this point, the fact that most of them still wore their mask actually made it more difficult for him to tell just which was which, but considering he wasn’t being attacked or having threats thrown in his direction he assumed it was one of the friendlier ones he’d met before.

That or managed to tame somewhat.

Regardless he was still more than happy to greet them as they approached, curious if they had a reason for visiting him.
