3. Do you write fics from start or finish, or jump around?

oh, i’m a whole ass mess. i TRY to go from start to finish, but sometimes i’ll be inspired for a later scene and will write that one instead and then try and connect the dots.

4. Do you outline before you start writing? If so, how far do you stray from that outline?

it really depends, tbh. if i’m writing a oneshot, i’ll have a brief idea of how i want it to go, then my fingers do the rest of the talking. however, i try and outline a lot more when it’s a longer fic. i usually try to have a general plot outline in dot points for the whole fic, then i’ll break down each chapter and most of the time try and have three dot points with each, but it depends how many scenes the chapter has. could be three dot points or it could be one! as for straying away from that..........none of my fics have ever turned out 100% how they were supposed to! sometimes when i’m in the heat of the moment my fingers have a mind of their own and something entirely different comes out!

18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene.

i usually to be really fond of a couple of things from LAL, but of something more recent... i am quite fond of the line “Wren doesn’t love Harry like Harry loves Haley, Wren loves Harry like Harry loves Wren.” it’s nothing to do with how it’s written because it’s a pretty average line, but the context behind it is what stands out to me the most! the realisation of it all and the juxtaposition of a similar line earlier in the oneshot.

march: do you listen to music whilst writing?

it depends on my mood and the tone of the scene i’m writing, but i often do listen to music while i’m writing! i have a handful of albums in particular i love to listen as “background noise” and they’ve not changed in like 5+ years, bar a few, and i’ve really been enjoying a lofi playlist lately as well!

september: share a comment or review which still warms your heart?

i don’t know about one comment in particular, but when people compliment my actual writing as well as or instead of the content of the chapter it always warms my heart! actually, one that i do remember in particular is when kath (author of salute if anyone remembers!) was reading oc but had to stop and review their first kiss chapter in particular because she really enjoyed it! their first kiss was definitely kinda special and imperfectly perfect hehe.

tomorrow: favourite ways to write fluff?

uhhh i love a bit of domestic behaviour with a added bonus of banter! maybe some cuddling too, but i love reading and writing characters just live their daily lives with a bonus “i love you” or banter thrown into the mix. feels so natural and fun at times!

august: are any of your fics associated with certain genres/artists/songs/etc?

i think most of my fics, one way or another, are associated with songs. i still do is kinda inspired by i still do by why don’t we, not a bad thing is inspired by not a bad thing by justin timberlake (ugh i haven’t listened to this song in a while). oh and i’ve found a real love is inspired by last christmas by wham!

yesterday: favourite way to write angst?

miscommunication or lack of communication, no doubt. i feel like i can write this easily because i’ve experienced it and it suuuuuuucks. that said, it makes a good angst 😈
