Sometimes Ang or Beckah will go on an Infinity Inc posting streak and it makes me very sad to remember that I technically never finished reading it. I ought to. I'd make that my project for next month if I weren't already overstocked on comics backlog, augh. Maybe it can be my new year's resolution?
Someday I need to finish reading Infinity Inc. I have all of it on my computer, and also all of JSA, and basically anything else I'd need for my Al Rothstein Appreciation Party ft. Black Adam. I just need to actually buckle down and read it. I'm the worst at this, I barely even got beyond Helix in II.
Whether there is a limit to the heights he can grow to is unknown. At 60 feet, [the rest of this is unimportant].
Well, there we go. That's taller than the average titan, anyway.
Atom Smasher's strength and density increase proportionately to whatever size he chooses (it was explained in JSA #75 that his muscles and bones actually break and reform as they grow in order to achieve these great heights).
Like I could possibly love Al even more? Holy shit.
Sometimes I feel a little weird about how intensely I ship Todd and Al, because ~friendship!~ is a good thing too, but man. Man. I just want each of them to have a crush on the other at different times in their life and thereby come to the realisation that they're queer (though Black Adam definitely helped in Al's case you can't stop me from thinking that), and then eventually once they're less horrible they get together.
Which is the long way of saying that I'm going to make my newly-acquired Todd and Al action figures kiss through their masks all the time.
Another of my reading-type goals for this year is to finish Infinity, Inc and make at least a decent start on the modern JSA. Where by "modern" I mean post-II but pre-Reboot. I will read the story of Black Adam seducing Al into terrorism if it is the last thing I ever read.
savarend said: i liked him a lot in 52. in general i actually liked 52 a fair amount actually
I liked a lot of 52! I think at the time I was mostly frustrated by the characters I'd never heard of (because I basically only read Batman at that point), but in retrospect a lot of it was really interesting. Even if poor Ralph Dibney was shamefully treated.
But yeah wow his whole story in 52 was GREAT, that's pretty much what got me interested in him. And then I read a fic where Atom Smasher realised he wasn't straight in part because of his painfully obvious crush on him, and since I am All About fic in which Albert Rothstein realises he isn't straight, that kinda sealed the deal.
