#Infinity Drive#i guess his basic backstory versus what his backstory would be in Pokemon are the same#his creator-- Professor Maurice-- attempted to create the perfect robot boyfriend for himself#but his work was consistently delayed/sabotaged#so Valerie came to life just after Maurice was murdered and never got to know him directly#he learned about Maurice through years and years of video diaries and journal entries#Maurice's final wish was that Valerie go out and experience life to the fullest in his honor#so Valerie travels the world learning about humanity to feel closer to his deceased master#significantly more tragic compared to his original backstory lmao#I'll have to repost the snippet i wrote about it#but yeah#Valerie is a super advanced android who possesses what's called the#which allows him to learn and develop rather than having base code that can't grow beyond its limits#but because he's recently come online his social skills are..... lacking#but that's the beauty of traveling the world to learn about humanity! (and Pokemon)
