Is it possible for a mage to use more than one type of magic? Since it's been a long time since the Six Sisters/apprentices, it's plausible for some people to be descended from multiple bloodlines at this point right?

What happens in such cases is that one type of magic overtakes the other as the predominant response. However, that is not a no 👁

Hi, I'm new to your story & just wanted to say I love the "Six Sisters" lore! There are tons of fantasy IFs around but I find the magic in this one particularly fascinating. I can't wait to find out more about them and the history of this world!

Thank you for such a lovely message! Magic systems are both fun and often difficult to create and map out, so I'm hoping the TGA one will be interesting to navigate 😊 It is strongly connected to the human and the personal, and I think that lends itself well to an interactive story!

Weapons mc can wield?

For now I'm sticking to the options presented in the opening of the game: force magic, a sword and twin daggers, with a possibility of narratively switching magic <--> weapons.

I hope you do excuse me for not showing the entire hand in the description below, I will present the popular household version of what it is and how it came to be.

The only non-disputed piece is the existence of Six Sisters who took the original source of magic onto themselves, sealing it from the rest of humanity. The act is popularly seen as greed, as desire to wield unparalleled power, and it reflects on the mage reputation.

Neither their original magic, nor the magic of the current day has a power to create, only shape and use. It is believed each Sister bent it to their respective ambitions, forming distinct domains within which a mage’s abilities may span.

The First Sister was a wielder of force magic, manipulating things at a distance without necessity of touch. The Second Sister was seeing, glimpses into the past she was not present for—a gift so unpopular it has rare users in the present day. The Third Sister sought to expand her reach, learning to instantly travel over large distances and carry messages to the minds far away. The Fifth Sister taught fine understanding of human body and soul, her gift is telling what sickness or emotion plagues them and why. The Fourth Sister never had apprentices, her power manifesting in the utmost control over human life, siphoning and bestowing it on her command. The Sixth Sister is said to have left the continent and to have never practiced her craft, which was thus lost to time.

The ability to perform magic runs through the bloodlines, of the Sisters and their immediate apprentices who were taught by the Sisters themselves. Some say they may sometimes take off the shackles of power from a mage or withhold their abilities altogether, but there is no consistent record about it.

The power mages now wield pales in comparison to the feats of old, but once in a while their abilities grow in strength and amplify, and that is when they tend to rise to regal power.

Now a little something to maybe plan out your MCs in advance. Despite their missing memories, they do find within themselves an ability to use force magic, making them a fitting field agent of a sort. Whether or not they lean into it will be up to you.
