First Gaming Commercial Console in History (A Summary)
In 1972, the first videogame console was released by Magnavox, an electronics company. Created by Ralph Baer, known as "The Father of Videogames".
The "Magnavox Odyssey" had limited graphic capacities, while it only showed two white blocks and a vertical line along the screen, it included translucent color superpositions for configurations and designs proporses.
The controls had 3 buttons, one for vertical movement, one for horizontal movement and a "Reset" button.
350,000 units were sold and wasn't a commercial success to the fact of a bad commercialization and information since people will think that this device will only work on Magnavox TV's.
This videogame console didn't have audio either and the price of it might have been to high since it was around $100 equal to $600 today.
Despite the unsuccessful destiny for this device, the "Magnavox Odyssey" introduced the informatic technology to homes, proving and existing market for home videogames.
