i understand you’re a tumblr blog. you’re not an actor, so the strike doesn’t directly apply to you, but saying ai has nothing to do with said strike so you can continue to use tech that basically steals the likeness of a real person/artists work is so ignorant. even if you’re not using it to profit you’re still supporting a tool that directly exploits the efforts of artists who clearly don’t approve of it.

obviously if you want to continue doing it, by all means go ahead but do your research before you decide to spread misinformation.

Ok, I'm gonna get into this, only because you took only a PART of the issues they are fighting for , particularly the one about ai so you could come at me, so I present to you her speech announcing the strike in its whole entirety.............

I am shocked by the way the people that we have been in business with are treating us. I cannot believe it, quite frankly, how far apart we are on so many things. How they plead poverty left and right while giving hundreds of millions of dollars to their CEOs.

It is disgusting! Shame on them! They stand on the wrong side of history in this very moment. We stand in solidarity, in unprecedented unity. Our union and our sister unions, and unions around the world, are standing by us, as well as other labor unions. Because, at some point, the jig is up! You cannot keep being dwindled and marginalized and disrespected and dishonored. The entire business model has been changed by streaming, digital, AI.

This is a moment of history. It is a moment of truth. If we don't stand tall right now, we are all going to be in trouble. We are all going to be in jeopardy of being replaced by machines. And big business, who care more about Wall Street than you and your family.

Most of Americans don't have more than $500 in an emergency. This is a very big deal, and it weighed heavy on us. But some point, you have to say 'No! We're not going to take this anymore. You people are crazy! Why are you doing this?'

Privately they all say we're the center of the wheel. Everybody else tinkers around our artistry, but actions speak louder than words. And there was nothing there. It was insulting. So we came together in strength and solidarity and unity, with the largest strike authorization vote in our union's history and we made the hard decision that we tell you as we stand before you today.

This is major. It's really serious, and it's going to impact every single person that is in labor. We are fortunate enough right now to be in a country that happens to be labor-friendly. And yet, we are facing opposition that is so labor-unfriendly, so tone-deaf to what we're saying.

You cannot change the business model as much as it has changed, and not expect the contract to change too. We're not going to keep doing incremental changes on a contract that no longer honors what is happening right now, with the business model that was foisted around us. What are we doing? Moving around furniture on the Titanic? It's crazy!

So the jig is up, AMPTP. We stand tall. You have to wake up and smell the coffee. We are labor, and we stand tall, and we demand respect, and to be honored for our contribution. You share the wealth because you cannot exist without us!

So, as you can see, it is not ONLY ai. Yes I agree it needs to be regulated....yes I agree actors/background actors should be fairly compensated for their likeness.....but as you said, I'm no one. I'm a tumblr blog making zero compensation for anything I do. And if I'm being completely transparent, I am in the group (which no one wants to acknowledge) who kept this country turning during the pandemic and am still one of the lowest paid people IN THE COUNTRY!

*clears throat* so, to clarify yes I've done my research, I know what they're fighting for, why they're doing it and support them 100%. But again, I will not stop doing what I love because you as an individual have an issue with it. If it was a problem I would have received a cease and desist yes?.....been ordered to stop?......taken to court?.....

Well none of that has happened. I'm not hurting anyone, I'm not making a profit off if anything so again no, I won't stop. And trust me, I'm well informed.

UNDERSTANDING CONSENT

Consent is....

An agreement between individuals to engage in sexual activity. It requires ongoing communication about boundaries and what each person is comfortable with.

There are 5 core elements of consent- that it is freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic and specific.

Reversible:

You are allowed at anytime during a sexual experience to change your mind about what you want to do and what you are okay with.

It doesn't matter if you have done it before or if you have already started. You are always allowed to change your mind.

Specific:

Consent requires being specific about what you are asking and what your expectations are.

Its important to re-establish consent for all changes or escalations of sexual activity. Giving consent to one thing is not consent to anything else, and consent given in the past is not the same as consenting to something in the moment.

Freely Given

Consenting is a choice you make without pressure, manipulation, coercion, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Freely given consent means there is real choice and nothing trying to convince you to say "YES" when you really want to say "NO."

Enthusiastic:

If you are consenting to sex, it should be because you want to!

Instead of looking for the absence of a "NO," enthusiastic consent focuses on looking for the "YES!" and other positive affirmations to signal comfort and enjoyment. Checking in often with your partner creates space for more enthusiastic consent!

Informed:

All must be equally informed in understanding what is going on or about to happen. You cant consent to something you don't have all the accurate information about!

This is especially relevant when talking about sexual protection, as well as checking that all re fully in a state to understand and take in information to consent.
