Some thought it strange for a creature born of grass and earth to be attracted to water. ‘It will kill you,’ they would whisper, ‘Your scales will become slick, and your heavy wings will ground you.’ The dangers were true, this he could not deny. Leaves bent under heavy dew, and the flowers in the meadow closed tightly to prevent their precious pollen being washed away. He too, body the size of a small branch, hid from the rain battering the forest; all too easily could he be washed away. Much to the dismay of those uttering warnings, Sunjin was never really one for listening. In fact, he was quite good at ignoring what others had to say if he didn’t particularly enjoy the words woven before him. 

Besides, where was the harm in visiting a hot spring ? ( The harm was actually pulled from him. ) Humanoid forms were useful for something, right ? No small wings to drag him down, and the perfect shape to enjoy what the waters had to offer. ( Sunjin had requested a birdbath once before though; that was quite fun too. ) 

There was no harm in enjoying one of the viewing pools either. Sunjin was a creature of fallen leaves and spring magic, but that didn’t mean he contained no level of respect for the powerful beings lurking within the waters of the moral plain. Such a pastime was, luckily, shared by many others dwelling within the bathhouse, and some of his greatest interactions came from fleeting meetings within moon-stained waters.

Tonight seemed to yield not one dangerous element, but two, and Sunjin’s attention focused upon the poised character nearby. Whether they were just passing by or had truly stopped to admire the beautiful sight like himself, Sunjin wished to converse. “ Beautiful, yes ? Hard to believe it may kill you. “
