Jammu And Kashmir's Infrastructure Upgrade: T5 Tunnel Developed At Panthyal On NH-44
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has operationalized an 800-meter-long bypass tunnel, T-5, to address the traffic flow on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The critical stretch on National Highway-44 in Panthyal will now be diverted through Tunnel T-5, which is expected to omit the treacherous stretch forever. The NHAI is focusing its energy on the timely launch of another tunnel connecting Peerah and Kunfer on NH-44 by this month’s end.
This development is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion on NH and circumvent the hazardous shooting stone location at Panthyal, while also providing reliable connectivity to traffic bound for Kashmir under all weather conditions.
