GSS2k21 event drabble 1/??? Sibling Squawking

((TW: Brief mention of killing))

Ingrid waited impatiently, where was he? She tucked her head into her feathers, it was cold out. Looking up to the sky when she heard wing beats, about time.

“You’re late” She grumbled and dipped her head as her brother landed, Raum lightly pecked her on the head “Sorry, I have chicks to care for, you know how it is” ingrid looked up “Congrats by the way, hope they’re well” “They are, now lets get to talking, you wouldn’t ask me to come in person if it wasn’t urgent”

“It is dear brother” she chirped “Piers has been…rather difficult, started spilling stuff he really ought not to be, like how he treated his pet dragon. Oh that pretty much made him public enemy #1 real quick.” Raum glared at her and puffed up his feathers “He has not told anyone about what we do did he? Ingrid sighed “I think he might have…” that earned her a hard peck to the chest, she flapped her wings snd hissed, stepping away from her brother. Before she puffed out her chest flaring her wings out in turn. The attack wasn’t for no reason but she was as much in charge as he was.

“I told you! Boy wasn’t ready and now look, he’s practically destroying everything we worked so hard on. What if anyone finds out!? Then what Ingrid!?” Raum flared out his wings briefly once more, Ingrid backed off lowering her head “Look, I’ll sort it out, don’t worry. I’m rather disturbed by the amount of fae folk present, she hasn’t woken up, so then why? One of them, I’m sure is one of hers.”

“A deer? That’s odd, they don’t show themselves easily if ever, why is it there?” “Hell if I know, he’s up to…something at least.”

“Then take him and hear him out.” Raum ordered clapping his beak. “If you can make use of him, then do it.” “And if not?” She tilted her head “then get rid of him, and save me the liver” “oi! Why do you get the liver? You aren’t even present, oh fine”

“Good, keep me informed.” Raum shook his wings as he spread them and flew off into the night, leaving Ingrid alone… “kidnapping Spectre it is”

Inspired by a hc post on what the Galar gym leader consider the biggest flaws in one another, here’s Ingrid’s take on that:

Milo - He’s sweet but a little too content in life, never seems to want to try and do anything new

Nessa - Seems perfectionistic, tries to proof herself too hard

Kabu - says he wants to try new things has been using will o wisp for years, also constantly talks about how they as older gym leaders should inspire the younger generation, she doesn’t quite disagree but he could take itdoen a notch

Bea - she rarely smiles, is she ok?

Allister - Due to her friendship with his father she knows Allister is a lot more outgoing when not in public

Opal - They used to date but she thinks Opal has gotten a bit to arrogant for her own good sometimes

Gordie - Why can’t he make up with his mom? They love each other right?

Melony - Wishes Melony wouldn’t judge her so hard for the way she raised her daughter and grand kids, sure she has 4 kids to raise but she also still has her husband.

Piers - She feels so guilty for burdening him with the decline of Spikemuth, she feels it’s her responsibility but he feels like it’s his too

Raihan - Why are you so glued to social media boy? Thinks he’s trying too hard to get approval from others

Leon - Really couldn’t have made an more intresting stage persona? Yes because people really need to know about how strong your charizard is *snore*

So decided to make small bios for the pokemon my various trainers have, not sure where i’ll put them but anyways here’s the first one, Ingrid’s Absol, Watcher Name: Watcher Gender: male Nicknames: Watch, Gargoyle (usually by the spikemuth inhabitants) Nature: Brave Ability: Pressure Held item: Absolite Accessories: Spiked bracelet Backstory: Watcher was Ingrid’s first pokemon, having brought him over with her from Kalos when he was a cub and he’s been with her for her ups and downs. Her laughs and tears, Ingrid honestly considers Watcher her best friend. Watcher likes to let Piers and Marnie ride on his back, he still does even if Piers due to being so lanky doesn’t really ride on his back anymore, Marnie still will. Personality wise Watcher is generaly a very stoic pokemon, though still acts like a newborn cub when he’s excited  Random trivia: Watcher has only mega evolved once, he doesn’t like to mega evolve as such Ingrid doesn’t use it He can be commonly found near the entrance of the town just watching those who come and go

What does Ingrid think of Piers' choice not to use dynamaxing in gym battles?

She doesn’t mind it, after all during most of her career she didn’t use it either because it wasn’t possible as of yet. Dynamaxing only really became a thing in her last few years as gym leader. And even then she didn’t use it, she actually wound up giving her dynamax band to Marnie. Plus Piers had proven himself again and again he is a formidable trainer even without using it, he doesn’t need to use dynamaxing to put up a good fight.  However Ingrid lowkey despises it, as we all know spikemuth lacks a powerspot, and before all towns were pretty much on equal footing when it came to drawing tourists. But when dynamaxing really took off and fancy large stadiums replaced the much simpler battlefields she too saw the decline in interest in Spikemuth. Shops closed down due to lack of business and honestly, Ingrid felt guilty to leave Piers the gym in the state it was knowing it’d only get worse from there on out. She shouldered some of the behind the scenes duties as not give Piers so much stress to the point he won't get sleep, at times she even considered taking her position back just to give Piers his freedom back but at the same time didn’t want to make it seem like she had no confidence in his skills. Things were really not easy, now Marnie is taking over for Piers she still has some worries but tries to see things in a positive light.
