Looking alongside with him, she noticed how a few flowerbeds were miserably trampled over, paw marks embedded in them deeply. “  ¿Did you accidentally step on them?  ” One look at his muddied feet, the answer was rather clear without his confirmation. His frustration was understandable, knowing how hard he was trying to contribute work around his own castle. But it wasn’t easy when one was a massive beast, & destruction seemed to follow him around whenever it can. Poor chamaco, he already had it rough with the curse---any more stress put on him & he could shred everything in his path due to an uncontrollable tantrum.

“  Vaya, vaya. There’s nothing we can do about those other than to dig them up & start again. Pero that doesn’t mean they’re completely useless.  ” Kneeling on the ground, she glanced at him, waiting for him to do the same. “  ¿Well? Are you going to just stand there & watch me do this all by myself? This is your garden, not mine. I’m only here to help.  ”

    “ we haven’t seen very much of you. ”        ruby more or less only knows his shop because it’s so close to the woods, where she’s begun to spend more  &  more time. he’s maybe set foot in granny’s a handful of times, if that -- but she knows of him, and not having seen him since everything came undone, she just wants to check. make sure he’s okay. after all, she knows what it’s like to be sequestered, and thought of as a monster.        “ i came to see how you were holding up. or if you were holding up. ”

Brows knitted together, visage perplexed.  “I’m not a witch...”   the suspicion in his tone stung a tad.  Though she had heard of NICE witches, in most cases they were considered BAD.
