Grounding techniques for anyone feeling extra anxious and/or dissociative these days (as stolen from my bird-themed self-care app):
- The 3-3-3 rule: Name three things you can see, name three things you can hear, move three parts of your body.
- Rainbow grounding: Look around you. Identify and name one red object, one orange object, one yellow object, one green object, one blue object, and one purple object.
- The 5 to 1 technique: List 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.
