I think every idea this year for film students starts with a challenge mostly due to the present world around us. I feel the need to have 2 scenarios for each idea is a necessity . I plan to do a short documentary on one of the following topics.
A. Domestic Abuse - Reclamation
B. LightHouse - Preservation in Donegal
C. SPD - An Autistic Child’s Perspective
Domestic Abuse - Reclamation
The title needs little to no explanation. In this documentary I would like to draw attention to the journey a domestic abuse victim takes once they are out of the abusive relationship. Also take an in-depth look into the support structure aftercare and all available channels accessible to these victims. This would probably be a series of interviews. Throughout the documentary I would have staged flashbacks to particular stages of abuse. Audio would be structured to depict the mood of each stage in the documentary.
LightHouse - Preservation in Donegal
Lighthouses not only plays an important role in maritime safety. For the tourism industry all over Ireland it creates beauty and revenue. Visitors can visit or stay in a variety of lighthouses throughout the country. These vital landmarks are symbols of historic and cultural values that need to be preserved for everyone as an important chapter in history. This documentary would take a look at lighthouses in Donegal. Their upkeep, their place in the community and what lies ahead. Drone work definitely required here ( yikes)

SPD - An Autistic Child’s Perspective
Sensory Processing Disorder describes the challenges children (and adults) have when their brains are not interpreting the sensory messages they receive from their body and the environment effectively. In this documentary I want the audience to see the world from an autistic child’s point of view. I want to try and interrupt what they hear, see and feel, how they react, and how it impacts on their environment. This will be a story about a young autistic girl we will call Anna for now. The documentary will capture a glimpse into her mindscape. I will relay this through a series of strong visuals, dominant audio and emotional interlays.
