@the-vampire-inside-me OK, I have some ideas about Inkborne.
Joey and Henry are friends.
Joey owns a large mansion and he’s an alchemist by trade. He creates medicines for the locals as well as warriors passing through.
Henry is either Hunter or Mercenary. He is often called away to kill whatever monster is terrorizing a village or town that needs help. He’s been doing this for years and he’s getting older.
Joey is afraid that Henry will get himself killed one day so he gets the bright idea to use his alchemy to summon a demon. He wants to use the demon to protect his home or the nearby village. Something like that. Something to ease the burden on Henry.
Joey uses a special ink and paper to draw a form for the demon that he can control. He ends up with a wise cracking, mischievous little ink demon named Bendy.
Now a few things could happen:
1: Joey summons and traps Bendy. He’s so happy that he sends a letter to Henry asking him to come back to the mansion.
2: Joey summons Bendy and sends the letter. Over time, the demon regains some of its strength and kills Joey. By the time Henry shows up, there is no sign of Joey and there is a demon running around his mansion. He decides to hunt it down.
3: Joey summons Bendy. In his haste to bind him to his new form, he gets tainted by some dark essence. He still sends the letter. In the beginning he seems fine, but over time he starts to loose his sanity. Near the end, he transforms into a beast and is hold up in the lower levels of the mansion. By the time Henry shows up, the mansion looks abandoned. He finds a demon running around the place and tries to hunt it down so he can get some answers.
I kind of like #3 because it would give you a lot to work with.
There could be a huge misunderstanding between Bendy and Henry that causes them to try to kill one another. That’s always fun.
They end up in the lower levels of the mansion where they have to team up to take Joey down and the creatures he spawns.
In the end, Bendy wants to go with Henry, stating he can help him with his hunts.
Henry agrees if only to keep an eye on the ink demon.
And there ya go. I’m still not sure if I could write a full blown story out of this but I’m sure you can find a way to flesh it out with your wonderful art.
