It’s now three months later, and you are helping Inko and Toshinori decorate for Christmas. You can’t believe you finally get to meet Izuku, Inko’s son. He’s been really busy with school, and she figured Christmas break would be the perfect time for you to meet him. You’re nervous but excited.

"When will he be here?" you ask Inko while unboxing decorations.

"Toshinori is bringing him back around six," she calls from the kitchen. She’s making his favorites tonight. "He’s so excited to meet you."

"I can’t wait to meet him either."

A few hours later, Izuku comes barreling through the door, excitedly crying and yelling, "MOM, I’M HOME!"

Behind him, you hear, "Slow down, you idiot!" You see a blonde boy carrying everything inside.

Inko comes out of the kitchen. "Oh, hi there, Katsuki! How are you?"

"I’m good. Midoriya said it would be okay for me to come home with him on break."

Izuku grabs Katsuki’s hand, interlocking their fingers. Inko notices, and simply wraps her arms around both of them with tears in her eyes. "You’re always welcome here."

You watch this all from the kitchen, still too nervous to walk out. Then you hear Toshinori walk in and ask, "Have you met Y/N yet?"

"Oh, yes! I almost forgot." Inko runs in and grabs your hand. As you stand between Toshinori and Inko, she says, "Izuku, this is Y/N. We’ve been so excited for you two to meet."

He looks at you, smiles, and says, "I’ve heard so much about you and how much you’ve helped around here, and how happy you’ve made my parents. Welcome to the family." He wraps his arms around you. You try your best not to cry when you hug him back.

The next day, you give everyone their first present. You even ran down to the store last night to get Katsuki a pair, so he didn't feel left out matching pajamas for everyone to wear on Christmas. It was something you’d seen in a TV show once and always wanted to do.

You look around and smile at how happy everyone is seeing Inko beam at how happy her son is with his boyfriend, and Toshinori laughing at the socks Izuku got him. You start to tear up, thinking about when you woke up from that coma. You never expected to wake up to something like this. You went from being alone to being surrounded by love.

Chapter 1: Finally Awake

It's been 1 month since the fight that rocked the city of Musutafu, luckily the damage caused by the Nomu’s was minimal. Sadly, there was a building that was attacked the most. There were 24 casualties and 1 survivor in an apartment complex.

This is the story of that survivor.

‘How long have I been here? What day is it?’ You wonder.

"Hey, Y/N! It's Thursday so your vistor is back again." The chipper nurse said.

‘Oh, okay, so it's Thursday so this would be the 5th Thursday that I've been here. I found out 3 Thursdays ago that I was in a coma due to a villain attack on my apartment complex.’

"I hope you are doing well today." Inko said

Inko is this wonderful woman who comes and visits you in the hospital. She keeps coma patients company that don't have family.

"I hope today is the day you wake up, it would be nice to actually talk to you before the weekend."

She's come in every Tuesday and Thursday. She's alone alot because her son is in UA. You think that’s what she said? Sometimes you fade in out while she talks. You assume due to some sort of medication that they keep giving you.

But you know her son was attacked and now all of the students at his school are supposed to live on campus full time. So she doesn't get to see him as often as she wants.

"Toshinori was going to come with me again today but there was something he had to do at work. But he wanted me to tell you that he hopes you wake up soon."

Toshinori is her boyfriend? You’re not really sure they haven't said. But he's came the last 3 times to keep her company. He's very good at pep talks for someone with such a gravely voice.

He's really close with Inko's son. So he's also been staying at her apartment so she's not alone all the time. But he does work alot for a teacher.

Inko reaches out to grab your hand,

"I hope it's okay that I touch your hand. I just felt like maybe you needed it. I know I do."

Her hand it's so soft and warm. Of course it's okay if she touches you, you were hoping she'd have grabbed your hand sooner. The only people that have touched you to this point have just been nurses and doctors but no one with any real care and comfort like this.

Inko feels you grip her hand back. She looks up at you as your eyes start to twitch and your eyelids flutter open slowly.

"NURSE! I THINK THEY'RE WAKING UP!" Inko yells loudly, her voice trembling.

You move your eyes to focus on her. She's crying, happy tears you hope. She hasn't let go of your hand.

Nurses rush in to the room. Shining a small flashlight in your eyes. Asking you questions like "do you know your name? Do you know where you are?"

With a harsh, dry voice from lack of use, you respond" My name is Y/N and I know I'm at the hospital but not sure which one."

"Do you have any family? We weren't able to get much info off your person. And your apartment is completely destroyed."

"My parents have passed and I'm new to the city so I don't have anyone."

Inko squeezes your hand.

"Okay well everything seems to be looking okay we'll let you relax and we'll be back to check on you."

"I guess I'll go, I don't want to overwhelm you."

"Inko, please don't go." You say your voice kind of raspy as you grab her hand tighter.

"I look forward to these visits and now that I'm awake and I can actually be here with you I want to enjoy it for as long as I can."

She blushes, " as long as you don't mind… I'll stay."

A few hours later the the chipper nurse comes in and let's you know that visiting hours are over and that you can try to eat some jello if you wanted it.

"Can you come back tomorrow? Maybe we can catch up on some trash tv that I missed?"

"I would love that!" She gives you a head pat as she walks out of the room.

The chipper nurse is back with some red Jello for you.

"Ooh I hope it's the cherry one."

It's been awhile since you've gotten to be excited about something. Even something small like a good jello feels amazing to you.

You've been lonely and kind of sad since moving to Musutafu for work only 3 months ago after your parents passed.

You never got to go with your coworkers after work because you were too shy and scared they'd all hate you. But now you have small things to look forward to and that's enough. For now.
