Pen (No Paper)
I made this video of my process:
Here is the finished product:
I presented it like this:
I presented it this way in class because I wanted it to look like a nail polish commercial or like someone had just sat down to do their makeup or get ready. I brought a tupperware from my house as a stand to make it look like a little stage.
These were my materials, along with a bottle of alcohol and a bottle of clear nail polish that I emptied. This is the pen before I opened it by snipping off the end:
I wanted to do something fun with the nail polish, and kept noticing it wasn’t water soluble at all. The only way I could get it into a paintable consistency was using the ink alone or by mixing it with alcohol. I didn’t look anything up, I just tried different mixing agents. Even after getting all the ink into a little cup of water, I was able to pour the water out leaving the ink completely untouched. I tapped the open ink cartridge against the bottom of the cup until it started coming out, and removed the rest by blowing through the tube. This made bubbles in the water and splattered ink all over my face. I wanted to also ingest the ink but didn’t want to face any health issues so I pretended to in order to shock my roommate, actually using charcoal toothpaste:
That was all! I experimented with an entire pen’s ink seeing its alternative uses on a person, both inside and out.
