Dear Stranger, I am an artist working on a photographic project which involves people I do not know… I would like to take a photograph of you standing in your front room from the street in the evening (…) A camera will be set outside the window on the street. If you do not mind being photographed, please stand in the room and look into the camera through the window for 10 minutes on (date and time)…I will take your picture and then leave…we will remain strangers to each other…If you do not want to get involved, please simply draw your curtains to show your refusal…I really hope to see you from the window.

What led me to do those pieces were the situations that I just happened to be in—situations where I was in a foreign country as a stranger, feeling a sense of alienation, or estrangement’, the artist explains in an interview with photographer Takashi Homma. It was cultural practices that could potentially seem disconcerting that aroused the photographer’s interest and gave rise to this project. ‘For example, in England, most of the buildings had windows facing the street, and people tended to leave their curtains open at night, so I could see inside as I walked through the streets’,

On St Valentine's Day he would have celebrated his name day.

Valentino Ludovico Clemente Garavani, known worldwide as just... Valentino.

A provincial boy who brought his talent and Italian style to catwalks around the world.

His name has been given to a particular shade of red. Valentino is also associated with velvet, elegance and Italian couture.

Valentino passed away 19th January 2026 at age of 93.

Il giorno di San Valentino lui avrebbe festeggiato onomastico.

Valentino Ludovico Clemente Garavani in arte Valentino, un ragazzo di provincia che ha portato il suo estro sulle passerelle di tutto il mondo. Una particolare sfumatura di rosso porta il suo nome associato anche con velluto, eleganza e stile italiano.

Ultimo imperatore della moda italiana se n'è andato 19 gennaio 2026, aveva 93 anni.

The only existing photograph of Van Gogh and Gauguin together. It was taken in Montmartre in 1887. From the left, the second is Emile Bernard, next to him Van Gogh seated with a pipe, standing André Antoine, founder of the Théâtre Libre in Paris, and on the far right Paul Gauguin. This photo was found by Serge Plantureux in the archives of the bookseller-publisher Ronald Davis, official supplier to the Rothschild family.

La única fotografía existente de Van Gogh y Gauguin juntos. Fue tomada en Montmartre en 1887. Desde la izquierda, el segundo es Emile Bernard; a su lado Van Gogh sentado con pipa, de pie André Antoine fundador del Teatro Libre de París y en el extremo derecho Paul Gauguin. ‎Esta foto fue encontrada por Serge Plantureux en los archivos provenientes del librero-editor Ronald Davis, proveedor oficial de la familia Rothschild.
