Inktober 2024 — Day 15 — Guidebook

Returning to our favorite PlayStation Heroes (or at least my favorites XD), I was wracking my brain how to do something for this day’s prompt. Eventually I thought, “Hey, the Thievius Raccoonus is basically a guidebook, right?” and I ran with it. I am proud I was able to get the writing on the front cover done pretty well since doing typography by hand is tricky for me. I’m also happy with how each hero turned out, especially with their expressions.

I actually had two ideas for this scenario. One is as seen above with Sly reading the book as Ratchet and Jak peak over his shoulders, one intrigued, the other slightly judging (or however you’d like to interpret it). The second idea would have been Ratchet and Jak reading the book themselves with Sly behind them either panicking, seething, or about to knock them out with his cane. While it was a more entertaining idea, I didn’t go with it because, A) it was a lot more complicated and I had already made up my mind with this scene, and B) I feel like Ratchet and Jak would at least respect Sly’s heirloom since it’s from his ancestors and the strongest connection he has with his family. That’s just my thoughts at least.

Day 15 : Guidebook

Scène inspirée de Détroit : Become Human. Après la révolution de Markus, le climat à Détroit est devenu trop tendu pour que les androïdes puissent y vivre. Exilés au Canada, ils tentent de former une communauté de survivants, accompagnés d'une poignée d'humains dont Gavin Reed fait partie. Puisque Josh était professeur, il se charge de former et d'éduquer les autres sur de nouvelles connaissances ou compétences. Simon se met à jour sur le secourisme et Gavin doit étudier l'anatomie des androïdes. Du moins, s'il ne dormait pas en classe.

Scene inspired by Detroit: Become Human. After Markus' revolution, the climate in Detroit became too tense for androids to live there. Exiled in Canada, they try to form a community of survivors, accompanied by a handful of humans including Gavin Reed. Since Josh was a teacher, he took it upon himself to train and educate others on new knowledge or skills. Simon catches up on first aid and Gavin has to study android anatomy. At least, if he didn't sleep in class.
