it’s a story about a lawyer who is suing a space agency for lying about the facts surrounding her husband’s disappearance/death and her husband who is actually alive and stranded in space! there’s so many cool people working on it.
aside from that, i have a novel I’ve been working on for a while and everything else is fandom related!
I have two other fics outside of the HBAN series, REDUX (a homestuck time travel fic) and Abyssal Theatre (a life series/hermitcraft reaction fic).
i love all my projects and i hope to show them as much love as i do with hban
Gotta be for real with you, most of the Ancient Janitor AU is a mess, I mostly grab random plot points I find interesting and try to see how it would change in the AU.
So I'm curious to see how you manage to connect the plot points or things that would typically go out of control because of the butterfly effect.
(The AU in general was made on the idea "PSA on why Gingerbrave should not gain a souljam" 😭😭)
no no no thats exactly how this au stuff works. you think about your au and find something that makes you go "wow wouldnt this be cool as fuck?" and run with it, even if it changes an initial idea
so, when i connect plot points, i just need to consider what would make my cool as hell idea make sense in this world. for example. i wanted gingerbrave to be the one that lead them to the moonstone like canon crk white lily. but how was i going to do that? hes not magic like dec and hes not a part of tuc so he cant be an illusion. solution? hes a fragment of the soul jam of freedom!
aus like mine are a lot easier to connect i think, because while a lot of my work is from my brain, i still have the source to use as a base line. i know the general direction im going in and the points i want to hit, its just a matter of filling in blanks.
another example is like, oh i want to include this character, how will i do that? i can make them out to be this important character, but then do a fake out (see hban twizzly gummy)
its like when youre animating. you have two key frames, point a and point b, and you need to make them connect using in betweens. its just a matter of what you personally think would make your story fun!
also, use your beta or a friend w the same interest as a backboard. they can help you connect things together. i throw things at bea all the time and theyre a big help figuring stuff out.
im NOT great at explaining this stuff but thats like. the general idea. does that make like any sense?
