Time is getting away from me and I can’t believe my place isn’t decorated for the holidays yet. I will be out of commission the next few days-- doing nothing but pulling the decorations out and putting them up. Thankfully I have a roommate this year and I can put him to work.

Now the question is-- do we go with classic red and green themed? Or do we spice it up do like a pale colorful theme? Or maybe the fifties-esque turquoise and red theme that’s so popular? Muted colors? Bright colors? There are too many choices.  I’m kind of particular so I like to have a theme, hah.

It’s weird finally setting up dates to be in a recording studio, it’s weird knowing that we’re signed now. Fuckin’ cool though. Luckily the label has been really understanding and is letting us do a lot of our recording in Lima for now which will help for the musical. I hope everyone had a rockin’ New Year though and stayed safe. Also... if anyone happens to find my shirt, please let me know. it was one of my faves and I’m kind of bummed I lost it in the midst of the chaos on NYE. Who is hella pumped about the new year?

After much back and forth, I think I’m staying away from the blind date thing at Rinky Dinks this weekend. All I’m picturing in my mind is me strapping on a pair of skates, falling immediately and my date leaving because I’ve made such a fool out of myself.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to overshare when they speak to receptionists. If you’re an hour late, you don’t get to just walk in an that’s the rule-- I literally don’t care that you’re late because your dog got out almost got hit by a car, Stephanie. Keep it in a kennel when you leave and be on time. It’s not my problem.

Tonight I did something I haven’t done since I moved from New York; I meant to do it when I was in New York recently but ran out of time.  I went ice skating.  It was so much fun and so beautiful, but something tells me that tomorrow I might be a little sore in places.  That being said though, I know I want to go again, in the next two weeks, before Christmas, so if anyone wants to join me, and then we can come back here for hot chocolate and eggnog with your choice of liquor or not, and Christmas cookies.  Based on the forecast, Wednesday or Thursday night this coming week might be the best bet.

Do you ever realize you might be the main character in a romance movie? I’m not sure if it’s a Lifetime movie or not, but I recently got a note to my apartment door complimenting me on my singing, and then they continued to talk about their favorite song from AIDA, as I was singing ‘My Strongest Suit’ while showering. They asked if I took requests too- apparently they would love to hear me sing something from Waitress.

Is this not just extremely romantic?

I lost my phone for over an hour today and I can’t even blame it on the fact I’m nearly blind. No, it was in plain sight. But, because I’d set it down while distracted by doing the crossword and sudoku in the newspaper, I somehow became so enthralled that I was convinced I’d left it somewhere else, even though it was, in fact, sat on the table next to me...

I had my first Karen customer today. There was no more Splenda in the plastic container for her to grab on rush hour. Instead of just telling me and asking me for some, she just threw her hot coffee in my face. I was so mad.
