My life as a (barely) walking anatomy lesson and why “gammon” works so well as a physical descriptor for people my colour who go pinky purple in the face while displaying their xenophobia. We’ve got that mottling and marbling down pat.
Yes I did stab myself a teensy bit on the left palm yesterday while trying to craft a fish fin out of plastic bottles. The craft gods demand blood of course, also smooth plastic bottles are stupidly sharp as soon as you start modifying them.
Circled in green is the one functional place to take blood/put in IVs. In purple is where you can see my pulse throb. Feel free to use as reference photos for body painting. My hands are that pink because i was using them to assemble a doll before taking photos - at rest, they’re slightly paler with that slight green tinge you can see at the wrist.
// The scarring across my elbows and inner upper arms is from cat scratch, an opportunistic infection which flares up in immunocomprised bodies. During a flare up it looks like stretch marks but deeper, redder and in all the wrong directions. If you have this and you’re AFAB, demand to see a woman doctor and present your case forcefully or you’ll go untreated because it’s just “stretch marks” even if you’re skinny and they’re in places like behind your knees and in your armpits.
