4 Things To Remember During Moments Of Inner Turbulence And Tough Emotion
Do not hide from what you are feeling
This current discomfort is not permanent
Rest is an important way to calm the mind
Struggle can be a space of deep growth

Three Thoughts On Inner Turbulence
Tough moments are a natural outcome when we are in a process of letting go. Putting effort into choosing new behaviours and releasing old bundled up emotions can temporarily cause imbalance.
It takes a great deal of courage to unbind our cold conditioning. Questioning what we have held firm for years and expanding our perspective beyond the grasp of our emotions into the realm of objective truth is no easy task. With equanimity the process becomes smoother.
To be committed to our freedom is to say no to fear and yes to honesty. Fear is the maker of stories that lead us into delusion. Honesty is the revealer of attachments that hold us back from embracing truth.

Inner Dialogue
Does your mind run non-stop, running a constant conversation with yourself about any matter of varying degrees of importance? Mine does, and it drives me insane sometimes. It can be anything, really. Perhaps it's a negative customer interaction that has driven me to contemplate future conversations with said customer. Maybe it's a matter of negative personal emotions driving me into a conversation with myself or with someone else that ends with me either having made no progress or preoccupied about something else. Perhaps it's about something that happened in my past. Maybe it's about something that happened in someone else's. No matter the cause, sometimes I just wish my brain would shut up. It's tiring. It irritates me. It leaves me at odds with myself, with others, and with God, and it's just not productive. I enjoy some of the benefits of the inner dialogue, that is for sure. But often times, the negatives outweigh the benefits, and I just wish I knew how to switch it off. Alas, I must go to sleep now, and even there, the dialogue continues in dream form. I need life to move on already.
No Exit
Look at us now Living lies we do not need Feeding fires whose fumes we breathe Look at us now Shivering, cowering Up against the corner With nothing left to lose Bottled up with emotion An explosion only imminent Within the lifespan of a fuse
