YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE!
In the midst of all the giggling, tripping and joyous jollification of a wedding, there was a 15 years old boy. Waiting on tables, cleaning up the mess and serving refreshments across the wedding hall, so that he could accumulate some cash which was enough to cover his government school fees and daily expenses. A boy with single parent, younger brother and over the hill grandparents living in a tin shed impoverished house, struggling for basic amenities.
Does that sounds over the top melodramatic and monotonous plot of every 80’s-90’s movies?
This may sound over-exaggerated, over-emotional and over-dramatic story but this anecdote here is not to gain sympathy. Let us leave that up to the reader what they pick from this read, after all “YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE”.
Can we imagine the companionship and neighborhood of this boy? A teenage boy in a stewards group who could have easily trapped in the toxic and diabolical habits, chose to invest all his spirit and endeavors in just to live his dream of having a better life.
He had a choice to blame his fate and weep over given life. He had a choice to get involve in venomous and destructive habits and crib it all about that he didn’t have enough resources to get out of this forced hardships. Well, despite how filmy it sounds but truly this one of the best friends of mine is an epitome of patience, courage and hard work which in turn proved that you always have a choice. He chose to step out of the misery and worked hard enough for self. Earned the designation and position much as same to people who were born with a silver and gold spoon. Isn’t it inspiring? Inspiring enough to at least be thankful for what we have got.
You always have an option to dig out a way to get yourself a better life. Or the least that we can do is to keep our conscience alive and awake enough to see the alternate roads to better life instead of crying over the fate rendered upon us.
Remember “YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE”
