Fun question for those still knocking around in the collective fandom, do you have any hc about why/how your Inquisitor chose the specialization that they did?  Did something happen in the field that sparked it off?

My current hc for my own inquisitor is that she sort of tripped over the Knight-Enchanter spec after Haven was destroyed.  When she woke up in the tunnels her staff was broken and unusable, and all she could find to protect herself with was the sword she’d used to trip the trebuchet, the blade of which had broken.  After that, when the despair demons found her, another spirit was drawn to the fight, a spirit of valor that lent its arm and made the blade whole to give her a fighting chance.

Dragon Age OC Headcanons (pt. 1)

So I finally stopped being lazy got around to writing some headcanons about my oc Terrah, so here we go! 

All under the cut because holy hell there are a lot. 

She’s Dalish and a warrior, but she left the clan when she turned sixteen, feeling like she didn’t belong. Terrah, more than anything, wanted to see the world at her own pace and not have to rely on anyone else. She was always rather independent, preferring to read rather than participate in anything else. 

She writes. A lot. Nothing particularly special, not novels or stories, but she tends to write letters to herself, to friends, and poetry is her strong-suit. But she could certainly give Varric a run for his money. The two of them trade works when things are on the DL.

Ever since she was young, Terrah had long wavy hair that cascaded down to her waist. However, after leaving the clan she decided to chop it. It represented freedom to her, to finally attempting to lead the life she wanted. 

There was a boy she met two years after leaving Clan Lavellan that she’d sworn she was in love with. However he broke her heart when he told her he was in love with another girl in his home village, and that his parents weren’t very happy with his relationship with an elf. She became much more shy after that. 

 She never cared about the differences between elves and humans, she believed they were all beautiful in their own ways. Their lifestyles weren’t that different in the long run. 

Though it took a while for her to become comfortable, The Inquisition felt more like a family than her real one ever had. They were diverse, and understanding, and wonderful. Terrah, for the first time in her life, felt as if she had a purpose; to help.

Some General Fenora HC- 

+ She chose June’s Valislain because Leena (her adopted mother) also had June’s Valislain. Though she never looked like either of her parents, Fenora felt sharing that with her mother was an important bond. 

+ Her Valislain extends beyond her face, the design continues down her spine, she added to her original Valistlain in her late 20′s after becoming a First. 

+ Fenora doesn’t have a canon thin elf body type, she has more of a pear shape to her figure. Her hips and bottom holding most of her weight (part of the reason she wears skirts and dresses more often than not - as she is self-conscious of this) and her breasts are small in comparison.

+ Though she knows that she is “Pretty enough”, Fenora is very self-conscious of her looks. She doesn’t like her red hair or freckles and at various points tells Solas that she wishes she could change her face and look more like Sera or Cassandra and Solas tells her time and time again she is beautiful and perfect as she is. Any time in private or even in front of others, Fenora even jokes about her looks, Solas quickly jumps to tell her to stop. She knows she is a beauty no matter what the world sees her as. 

+ Varric’s nickname for her is “Poppy” because of Varric’s tendency to give Elven women flowery nicknames, and her red hair reminds him of Poppies. Varric is very found of Fenora because she reminds him of Merrill at moments and Hawke at others. When Hawke meets her, she also comments about how Fenora and Merrill would likely get on quite well. 

+ Fenora and Hawke get along quite well, they seem to have the same tendency to deflect their nerves with humor. 

+ In the Inquisition Fenora is closest to Solas (obviously), Varric, and Cole. Varric has a similar sense of humor as Isenam (her adoptive father) and makes her feel at ease during tense moments. Fenora is friendly with the rest of the group, she has no real enemies. Though Cassandra and Cullen make her nervous, particularly later as Fenora learns more about where she truly comes from

So fun HC for this little post Dragon Slaying scene with Bull... First big one is, I think this is the first time that Tamaris has been properly drunk in her life, she is about 30 which makes it all the more amusing. I think that Mathras is the drinker of the twins, Tamaris never really got into it because she was afraid that it would leave her open to being possessed. The reason she even drinking in the first place is Bull insists and our girl Tamaris has a bit of a problem saying “no” because she doesn’t want Bull to think she is some weak little thing.  So she drinks... and she is a featherweight... but a happy drunk. She spends hours talking with Bull over drinks about the Qun and Bull’s life with the Chargers. Tamaris ends up passing out on the bar at one point...because she tries to keep up shot for shot with Bull. So Bull tries to pick her up to help her back into Skyhold, this wakes her up and Tamaris protests (loudly) as Bull tries to carry her. He ends up setting her back down, and Tamaris stumbles...falling flat on her face. Bull says enough she is gonna hurt herself and Solas would probably kill him if that happened, and picks her up tossing her like a rag doll over her shoulder. Tamaris is screaming that she is fine and can absolutely walk. Bull tells her to just be quite and she will thank him later, after she recovers from the Dragon sized hangover she will have. He takes her to the Rotunda, where Solas and Dorian are debating some theoretical magic (because they are both nerds and nerd out together), Dorian is highly amused by Tamaris being so drunk... Solas is actually fairly amused as well because it’s so far from anything he expected her to do. Bull explains what happened. Dorian... not Solas... ends up being the one to take care of Tamaris while she is drunk. Not because Solas didn’t try but because Dorian explains he has far more experience with dealing with what she will be dealing with in the morning. She ends up sleeping on the couch in the rotunda, Dorian sleeps in a chair next to her. Watching over her to make sure she is okay and any time she stirs he makes her drink some water. In the morning he makes her coffee and brings her toast.  He even makes her some special “ancient Tevinter hangover cure”. Bull 1000% comes to check on Tamaris in the morning to make sure she is still alive.... but if Tamaris was asked if she was alive she just groans “No... I am dead...very dead...” before passing out again. I think she had a several day hangover after that night.

Me thinkin about my inquisitor’s romance/friendship hc’s, the short list -  Aadhlei/Cullen: Good ol’ pining moderate slow burn.  Mild angst, but in a supportive fashion.  Probably the healthiest option on this list as a ship.  If they’re not involved they’re still very attached to each other.  She probably gives him at least 60% more shit if they’re just friends.

Aadhlei/Iron Bull: When the emotionally stunted but sexually experienced meets the emotionally developed but sexually clueless.  Mild hilarity ensues.  As friends he’s just a giant brick wall made of snark and support.  She has definitely dangled from his horns while drunk at least once in either instance.

Aadhlei/Varric: ANGSTANGSTANGST like forty fucking yards of angst holy shit there’s so much to unpack.  He’s pretty convinced he’s at least a little cursed and is afraid to get closed to (and potentially destroy) somebody new.  It’s not really until Hawke and Bianca have both made their way through that they start to find some proper footing.  I don’t even know that I have a headcanon for these two as strictly friends, their whole thing is so established in my head now. 

Aadhlei & Dorian: Platonic cuddle buddies.  You cannot change my mind.

Aadhlei & Cassandra: Never quite make it to besties, but Aadh respects the shit out of Cassandra’s take-no-shit attitude and Cassandra is consistently impressed by Aadh’s resilience.  No matter what route Aadh’s romance goes you can bet Cassandra is somewhere with a pair of binoculars and a bowl of popcorn.

Lets just talk about this fleeting little moment in the quest “All New Faded for Her”, being late to the fandom I am sure this has been discussed at length, but this look always pulls at something in me. I almost always am romancing Solas while playing this quest because... it’s Solas... any ways I always take this as the first moment that Lavellan (in this case Tamaris) sees Solas’s darkside. Like she is questioning her feelings for him when she sees him kill those mages. I think it’s a moment she probably looks back on a lot post-Trespasser.

My favorite Inkies

“The Twins” aka The Twinquistion - Mathras and Tamaris Lavellan - The only HC World State where two of my inkies exist at the same time... Mathras is my most recent playthrough and my first male. He is a rouge and thief and he’ll tempt your fate *raises eyebrow* no really he is Rouge and he kinda snarky and sarcastic, flirts with EVERYONE... but really only into Dorian. He is going to romance Dorian. Tamaris is one of my hands down, favorite, Lavellans. She obviously romances Solas and is mage... but she is sweet, kind and wants to fix all the things (most of all the egg...). For reference... Mathras and Solas... not buddy buddy... Mathras wants to crush the egg for hurting his sister. *I am working on FF featuring them* 

Maeve - Oh sweet Maeve... who I went way overboard with her plotting and backstory. She is a human mage... obviously... but when I made her I was taking a deep dive into Flemeth, Mythal...and The Daughters of Flemeth.... can you guess what I did? Well I HC that she is Morrigan’s little sister... who ran away to follow her sister as child during the events of the 5th Blight. Thus making her one of Flemeth’s daughters... which is way more fun for me to RP than the vanilla Trevelyan backstory. She romances Cullen, which honestly works so well for my little story with her... *I am working on some oneshots and such for her as well...maybe a full story IDK* 

Nyx - This is actually... basically my first Inkie... I have rerolled her 3 times and each time I just adore her more and more. She is probably the most me of all my inkies, which actually has caused her to not have nearly as many friends as my other inkies. She has her very specific view of the world and she unwavering in the fact that the mages need to be free. In spite of that she is rather good friends with Sera and Bull, probably because I chose Sarcasm quite often with her... She is Solavellan... but in one playthrough I did have her romance Cullen... which was sweet but her personality fits WAY more with Solas. I plan on eventually playing DA4 for the first time with her particular world state (even though I have far better ones now) just because I am that attached to her and want to see her come back like Hawke. *I am not sure if I will actually write for her, because she is basically me and while I enjoy writing a good self-insert fic, I am trying to push myself a bit more with my writing... though I am so not ruling out anything.*
