Here is the over-nighter for the Top 10.
Gazprom refers to company that deals with natural gas with Moscow serving as its headquarters. It has several hundred subsidiaries and affiliated companies owned and controlled directly or indirectly. Also, in 2014 it registered a slight uptick in its profits.
But, that’s where all the good news ends. Last month, Gazprom lost $3.4 Billion in a Court Battle in Ukraine. Also, Gazprom is currently in the middle of several crises put together, namely:
• Russian Financial Crisis
• Ukrainian Financial Crisis
• Oil Crisis
• Sanctions on Russia by EU, USA, etc.
All of the above puts a lot of pressure on a company that plays a significant role for a country like Russia. Now, the task in hand for you, is to either revive one of the existing businesses of Gazprom or either come up with an entirely new one that would comply with its capacity as well as earn the approval of its main shareholder, the Russian Government and eventually help the company sustain through the unpredictable times.
