“Me either,” he said casually. “I don’t exactly have many other friends.” There was Eph, and... well he respected Khint, and he knew Taka... but he wasn’t sure any of those people would consider him a “friend”. He sipped at his coffee, considering all this.

Canis: One cooking the other a meal (choose who does what)

The last time they’d cooked together had been a complete and utter disaster with flour everywhere! At some point he’d messaged Talia telling her he was going to cook a meal for her to pay her back for all the flour he wasted! Seemed like a fitting deal to him.

Today would not be the day he screwed up again! Even though she’d been a bit hesitant to accept his offer at first, he insisted. Gavril walked out of the kitchen a moment to check on his guest, a huge grin on his face. “It should be ready really soon!”

Although he’d known she’d likely agree, the fact that she’d accepted came as a surprise. He’d never asked anyone on a date before, and his first go had ended up with an enthusiastic response. That was definitely heartening. Khint smiled, just slightly, and nodded. “If not for Amira, I might have not gone for years either.” Too much work and not enough sleep did not really give him pause for personal trips. Amira had made him slow down. 

He cleared his throat, expression returning to neutral calm, despite the flush. He was determined to keep some of his dignity. “I’m free this weekend. Would Saturday work?” They could go in the morning, spend the day at the museum, and get lunch and dinner together. Jack could look after Amira for him.

“...Would you...” Khint was blushing. He knew he was blushing by the burn on his cheeks and his ears, and the mortification of it all just made it so, so much worse. He’d never done this before, and he likely would have never done it once in his life had it not seemed like a good idea twenty minutes ago when Amira had suggested it. “Like to do something? Together? Some activity and dinner, perhaps?” That sounded stupid, and he swore he was mumbling. Why was he feeling so sheepish all of a sudden. “There’s a new exhibit at the museum that I was thinking of visiting...”

Dear person I hate

People say hate is a strong word, but I personally don’t think its strong enough. Loathe? Despise? None of these quite describe how I feel about you, so let me try to.

Looking at you makes me feel as if my eyes had been replaced with my own shit and my brain was slowly melting.

I would prefer hammering multiple nails into my own ears rather than have to listen to you speak.

Every time I remember you exist I openly hope you get hit by a rail or blown out into space. 

I think that suffices.

Khint couldn’t help another sigh as he took another set of keys and passed one to each of his children. Jack looked more enthused about the entire thing than Amira, who kept giving her father a pouting look. “I suppose you have a point.” He nodded to Talia before kneeling down to Amira’s height and telling her mock-sternly to make sure Jack stayed out of trouble. She agreed, then took her newly... sort of adopted brother by the hand to go up to their own little room. 

Khint straightened up, picked up his bag and went to Talia’s side. “Now we can go.” If there was indeed only one bed... well, he could always sleep on the floor if he had to. She was the kind one in this situation.
