Ok so LET’S TALK ABOUT MS. MARVEL PHYSICS (spoilers ahead for s1e1)
Because not enough people are talking about this
So during the scene where Zoe gets hit by the hammer (we can discuss how noncircular foam representations of Ant Man’s head shouldn’t crash through a concrete wall and destroy steel trusses later), we start with this shot
All is fine and dandy in physics world here, no worries. Then we have the first hit
So two issues here. First, there is no way this hammer suspended 15-25 feet (roughly) would be made out of anything heavier than foam. So it should NOT have the momentum to push a teenage girl in the air. Second, does Zoe actively rock climb when she isn’t getting 100k (80k) followers?? How does she hold on and not just get pushed onto her back?? Anyway, she maybe goes like... 8 feet into the air? Then we cut to the next shot
Oh hey Zoe is abruptly HIGHER THAN THE BACK OF THE STAGE??? Sure angles might play a role here (along with the stage artificially increasing Kamala’s height), but there is no way that she is not 2-3 times higher than in the previous shot.
Zoe hits the apex of the second swing (the first being the swing that hit her). She still looks higher than she was on the stage, but it does appear that she is slowing down, as one would expect from a powered pendulum. If a typical popcorn stand is like... 10-12 feet, she easily cleared this and that puts her at 15-20 feet high? Back to the original expected height of this style of decoration.
And then... she swing back around (does a fancy little spin more in the middle), swing back over Kamala, and at some point during that swing gained enough height to strike this cloud???? Which seems to be 20-30 feet in the air????
