a little story time because I'm bored and this whole thing was hilariously insane i still think about it sometime lmao

this was right when DAV discourse was super hot and the super fans and super haters were constantly going at it.

The Lords of Fortune costumes were one of the things that were heavily criticized for various reasons. Someone then made a post about how the LoF costumes were inspired by east asian traditional wear, i don't clearly remember the post so no idea as to specific countries. Now this whole post was definitely an opinion post too as plenty of people disagreed with op given how Bioware is infamous for their insensitive implementation of non western cultures.

Now in my post i added one line of ''i hate her design'' or ''I hate the LoF' design'' i don't remember but I think this one sentence is what pissed people off. Because in my personal opinion like a lot of the DAV armors and fits the LoF ones were overly designed. And they kept advertising the LoF as pirates which they really weren't design wise. I would call these very minor unproblematic complaints but nope, guess not.

So then plenty of people thought it was ok to spam my comment sections and dm me shit accusing me of disrespecting east asian culture, westernizing it oh and one person said I was ''fetishizing black women because i obviously can't stand to look at a black woman in revealing clothing without immediately sexualizing them''

so yeah

that's when i completely quit any and all DAV art and have generally stopped interacting with the DA fandom.

Mind you I really don't think my design was all that great, it was whatever. I took her og fit and mixed it with some artbook stuff and a little from the DAI multiplayer. Nothing special.

i had the same daydream universe from like age 11 - 25. and then 6 years ago i watched a show and got too into it and like the stress of it was sending my anxiety all over the place. i would have anxiety attacks after watching cast interviews and had to make myself stop. and during that time i lost my old daydream universe and pretty abruptly then moved into this new one based on this show. and i'm like reliant on it now and used to it etc.
