(You've been enjoying a rare night around the hive. As much as you like being outside, checking out the fauna, exploring nearby areas, sometimes it's nice to just stay around the hive for once. Dick around online, read some of the... "literature" you borrowed from your moirail, get some cleaning done. You do hear distant rumbling every so often, but it doesn't seem like a storm, so you ignore it for now.) (As the noise gets closer, though, you start to get curious. Is there an especially enormous beast or something passing by the area? Maybe you can kill it -- something that can make that much noise could probably keep you well fed for weeks, though it might not fit in your thermal hull. And then you hear your lusus running toward your hive, making distressed horse noises as she hurries into the large stable block you have out back for her. Whatever is out there has just spooked horsemom, so you pretty much have to check it out.) (It's not quite an enormous beast -- it's an enormous lusus. A nasty-looking scorpion, at that. Looking closer, there's something on top of said lusus. Is that... a hive? That's odd, you don't get many visitors. Your first impulse is to approach it and see what its deal is, but you know full well that many lusii -- especially that size -- feed on foolish trolls that do that sort of thing. For now, you wait to see what it will do.)
