Every time I open a post window (trying to choose which of my hoarded likes I want to reblog today) I keep getting a “checking your browser” screen, and it’s been happening way too often this past week, and now I’m getting scared.

Usually, there’s one blog I follow that tends to do it (and they have a different custom theme that I think triggers it more), but now it’s happening on everything, and I’ve heard the “checking your browser” comes up when Tumblr’s system is struggling to tell if you’re a bot or not… and so now I’m worried if I reblog a bunch of posts today it’s going to trip over and think I’m a bot, and I’m not trying to turn into a pixel blog here! (Though the way things have been going, my spidey-senses are questioning if Tumblr would decide that would be a great crappy birthday gift for me).

Ugh! Has this been happening to anyone else more than usual?

About to do my Saturday reblogs as usual, but login issues are still ongoing with Tumblr on the web (where it still works if you’re already logged in and stay logged in, but you just get errors if you try to log in), so if I get logged out for any reason, I may get locked out, too, and that could happen at any time.

Yesterday, my cousin and I did figure out that logging in on a phone in a mobile browser with Wi-Fi turned off and a good data connection sometimes got us in, but that way has its limitations. Putting that out there for anyone who might have trouble.

It’s an error that isn’t getting as much fanfare, because the site is working just fine if you’re already logged in and stay logged in… but a problem at the login page and putting in all your credentials and getting “Oops there was an error” is a problem (and per Reddit, others haven’t been able to make new accounts or reset passwords, either)… it is serious.

I submitted a support ticket, and anyone else who’s having trouble logging in should, too, because it’s sporadic, but it’s not isolated to just one account, and multiple tickets about the same thing from several accounts might alert staff that there’s a real problem here sooner.

So I have 2 final exams tomorrow morning… including one at 8:00 AM, and a surgery lab in the afternoon. And now the forecast just switched this afternoon to say we’re gonna get a substantial amount of snow tonight.

Oh… Please, don’t. Please, don’t. 🥶

Because it either means, A: I’m gonna be getting up even earlier after a late night up studying and preparing to clean my car, or B: school gets shut down and everything has to be rescheduled to a (likely crappy) time. (Also, quite likely that the cadaver surgery practice lab just won’t get rescheduled at all and my class cohort loses that opportunity).

Good grief, I’m glad for the small bit of good news I’ve gotten the last few days, because aside from that, it’s been a *bummer* couple of weeks... 😔
