The functionning of Hymenoptera

Hm… We're going to talk about a very complicated colony…

But let's start with the basics, as with the others, several different species but related to their families of insects.In the Hymenoptera there are:

- Bees

- Wasps

- Hornets

- Ants

It's a complicated colony because for each species mentioned above, there is a Gyinawez.This has caused a civil war within the colony, as each of the species tries to demonstrate that their Gyinawez is the only real one.

This discord has caused each species in the same colony to have a different way of functioning.

First of all the bees! Bees make hives high up on the branch of a metal tree.

The Bees each have a specific job to do, and their task changes depending on their age.The works required during their lifetime are:

- Maintain the colony (The Young)

- Searching for food (The Discoverers)

- Dealing with Sparklings (The Advanced)

- Guards (The High)

- Healers (The Sages)

- Serve the Gyinawez (The Elders)

As for the Spark Bond, it is the Advanced who do it with a partner that the Gyinawez chooses for them, afterwards, they will take care of their Sparkling with the other Advanced.

The Gyinawez of the Bees works a bit like the Coleoptera he/she will choose who he/she will Spark Bond with to create his/her Sparkling.On the other hand, he/she can do several, but it will always be with the same partner.

The problem with the Bees is that because of the Civil War, many Guards die, and the Bees begin to have fewer and fewer Healers to help the Guards, causing a vicious cycle.

Now let's talk about the Wasps! Wasps have a slightly more chaotic way of operating.

The Wasps make hives high up on the trunk of a metal tree.

Wasps, per Civil War doesn't really give a specific group task or anything.The main job to do being Guards.From birth, Sparklings are trained in combat.

The most robust will be chosen and protected to the maximum until age to make a Sparkbond with another strong Wasp, in the hope of making a powerful Sparkling as well.

Other trained Sparklings that don't look as powerful will be sent straight into battle.

Sparklings considered too weak will have the job of:

- Maintain the colony

- Serve the Gyinawez

Those who are injured and can no longer fight will be the ones who train the Sparklings, and also serve as Healers.

As for searching for food, the Guards do that as well. One group goes for food, the other fights, and it's the Gyinawez who chooses which Guard does one of these tasks.

The Gyinawez of the Wasps does like the one of the Bees he/she will choose with whom he/she will make a Spark Bond to create his/her Sparkling, always the strongest of all.He/she can make several, and if finds a more powerful one than his current partner will choose him/her instead.

Now let's talk about Hornets!The Hornets have a way of working that is similar to the Wasps, but in a less chaotic way.

Like the Wasps, the Hornets build hives high up on the trunk of a metal tree.

The Hornets also train their Sparklings in combat, but do not send them directly into battle. First they wait until they have made a Spark Bond, before finally sending them into battle.

Those deemed unfit for combat will not Spark Bond and will take care of the Sparklings, Colony, and Gyinawez.

Those who appear to be unfit for combat but with intellectual potential will become Healers.

Those who are the fastest will be selected to searching food.

The Gyinawez of the Hornets does like that of the Wasps for the Spark Bond.

Finally, there are the Ants! Forget everything that was said above, Ants do absolutely nothing like them!

First of all, ants live in underground galleries.

From birth, Sparklings are directly assigned a role, which will remain the same throughout their lives.The assigned tasks are:

- Maintain the colony (The Workers or The Aphids)

- Look for food (The Searchers)

- Take care of the Sparklings (The Nurses)

- Guards (The Soldiers)

- Healers (The Healers)

- Serve the Gyinawez (The Workers or The Aphids)

Let's talk about Aphids, Aphids are part of the Hemiptera colony.But the Ants kidnap some of them to reduce them to slavery, in order to have more efficiency within the colony.

As for Spark Bonds, any class mentioned above can do it, however, a Worker cannot make a Spark Bond with a Soldier, but with another Worker. Everyone stays in their place.

The Gyinawez will make a Sparkbond with the strongest of the Guards.If another stronger Guard shows up, he/she can Spark Bond with him/her as well.

When it comes to choosing their future Gyinawez, Bees, Wasps, Hornets and Ants work the same way. When the Gyinawez reaches the end of his life, his Sparklings will be placed in an arena and will have to fight to the death. Whoever survives will become the new Gyinawez.

The functioning of Lepidoptera

Like the Praying Mantis, there is only one species :

-The butterflies

But there are Day Butterflies and Night Butterflies.

The difference between the two is their appearance. Indeed the Night Butterflies are more robust, large and strong than the Day Butterflies. Therefore the Night Butterflies are automatically Guard and take care of the Gyinawez.

As for the Day Butterflies, they have no predefined task. Unlike other colonies, the Lepidoptera colony is like a village where everyone manages to take care of their house or look for food.

Nevertheless, the Gyinawez will ask to the Day Butterflies as a food tax. Otherwise, the Day Butterflies are free to do what they want.

As for the Healers, it is a specific family of Day Butterflies, who transmit their knowledge to their Sparkling from generation to generation.

As for the Spark Bond, it's like with the Orthoptera, one Day Butterfly will charm another. As for the Night Butteflies, it is the family that will choose the conjunx, by arranging with another family of Night Butterflies.

The family ties is very important for the Lepidoptera, unlike other colonies, the Sparkling will stay with his/her Creators until he/she finds a suitor and has his/her own home.

For the Gyinawez he/she will choose his/her suitor (often a Day Butterfly), and will be the same throughout his/her life. To choose the successor, the Sparkling of the Gyinawez with the most beautiful wings will be chosen. (It is for this reason that Night Butterflies are rarely chosen as conjunx for the Gyinawez, as their wings are considered bland and ugly).

The different colonies of Insecticons - Insecticons Guide - Transformers

There are several colonies, with their Gyinawez (King/Queen) for each. The different colonies are those of:

Coleoptera (e.g. beetles)

Orthoptera (e.g. grasshoppers)

Hymenoptera (e.g. bees)

Mantoptera (e.g. praying mantis)

Lepidoptera (e.g. butterflies)

Odonata (e.g. dragonflies)

Blattoptera (e.g. cockroaches)

Dermaptera (e.g. earwigs)

Diptera (e.g. flies)

Hemiptera (e.g. aphids)

Phasmoptera (e.g. stick insects)

Siphonaptera (e.g. fleas) In next parts I will explain the different functioning of each colony.

Functionning of Mantoptera

/!\ The Spark Bond is not considered s*xual, but if a Spark Bond is forced it is considered r*pe for the Insecticons

Unlike other Insecticons there is only one species:

- Praying mantis

Mantoptera live by digging galleries.

In terms of how they do the tasks, the male praying mantises will have the following tasks:

- Maintain the colony

- Enlarge the galleries of the colony

- Serve the Gyinawez

- Take care of the Sparklings

The female praying mantises will have the following tasks:

- Looking for food

- Guards

- Healers

The females are all excellent fighters, however it is forbidden for the males to learn how to fight, because the females consider the males as incompetent (this is mainly because they do not want rebellion).

/!\ Hard Part

Lets talk aboit the Spark Bonds... Well, like I say, if it's not consent it's a r*pe, so if you're sensitive about that. Go where there is the stars.

As for Spark Bonds, you should know that unlike other Insecticons, Mantoptera must make a Spark Bond between males and females.

So… A female will tend to force a male to Spark Bond with her, indeed males are rather reluctant to Spark Bond, as females tend to devour them once the Sparkling can live without the male. A male can only have one Sparkling.

Yes, female praying mantises are cannibals…

In addition to being cannibals, the Mantoptera are one of the rare Insecticon colonies to be Insectivorous.Indeed, although the Mantoptera can eat almost anything, the Mantopters love to devour other Insecticons.(The males too, they just don't hunt other Insecticons, the females do, and the females then give them the remains)

As for the Sparklings, it is the male who will keep the spark of the Sparkling in him until he is powerful enough to create his body and thus be born.

The male will then take care of his Sparkling until he is big enough, and the male will being devoured by the one who gave him a Spark Bond.

The Gyinawez is still a female, and will not Spark Bond to have an heiress.The reason is that since the males can only do one Sparkling, and there is too high a risk of an heir male, the praying mantises instead opt for a fight to the death, every year against the Gyinawez.

If a praying mantis wins against the Gyinawez, then it will become the new Gyinawez.As there can be a lot of volunteers, especially when the Gyinawez is at the end of its life, there is first a fight to the death between each volunteer, and the winner will be able to fight the Gyinawez.

The Coleoptera functionning - Insecticons

In each of the colonies there are different species but related to their families of insects (for example, here, the family of Coleoptera). In Coleoptera there are therefore:

- Scarabs (like Bombshell)

- Stag beetles (like Shrapnel)

- Staphylins

- Weevils

- Ladybugs

- Leaf beetles

- Cockchafers

- Carabids

- Dung beetles

The Coleoptera work in groups of three, but are not necessarily of the same species, and it is their Gyinawez that make up the groups. Their Gyinawez will often give them complementary orders, and their mission is not necessarily tied to their species.

Each group has a specific job during the day, but can change the next day. Beetles are known to be multifunctional, and able to do different things.

The works that can be requested are:

- Looking for food

- Maintain the colony

- Enlarge the galleries of the colony

- Serve the Gyinawez

There are particular works which are not asked of groups but of a type of species or an individual.

First of all, there is the role of Guardian. This role is attributed to the Dung beetles, because of their superior strength to the others. If another Coleoptera proves his/her strength and fighting ability, he/she can also join the Guards. But the entrance test to be a guard is the most difficult of all the Insecticons. It is for this reason that the Coleoptera are the most powerful colony.

Shrapnel attempted to take this test, but failed after falling ill, and the Guardians didn't agree to take him again afterwards. Bombshell has long suspected that Shrapnel was poisoned, to prevent him from completing the test, because of Shrapnel's peculiar way of speaking.

The second job is medicine. This is the work of a particular group called the Healers. There are a total of ten in different parts of the colony, and they choose a disciple to replace them when they die. We cannot become Healers by choice, we are chosen to be Healers.

The third job particular is to take care of the Sparklings. In fact in the group of three, two of the group will make a Spark Bond to give birth to a sparkling, and one of the two will keep the spark, until it is powerful enough to create its body, and thus be born .

The third member of the team will therefore do the work alone, but will be given extra food, including a "special", so that he can complete the work of three people. The one who kept the spark will be the last to get back to work afterwards, having to take care of his/her sparkling, and rest. It is recommended to give birth to a minimum of two Sparklings, and a maximum of five.

The Gyinawez however works differently he/she will choose with whom he/she will make a Spark Bond to create his/her Sparkling. He/she often chooses a strong Coleoptera, so it is often a Guard. The Gyinawez can only make one Sparkling, so they should be very careful of the Gyinawez's Sparkling, being the rightful successor when the Gyinawez dies.

The Coleoptera are considered the strongest Insecticon colony, with its army and extremely skilled Healers. Although there is this flaw of the Gyinawez of only being able to make a single sparkling, the colony has so far always managed to prosper.
