📂 📂📂📂 for fuyumi. -- in relation to her anger/violence if and when she explodes. what is her favorite dish to prepare and why. how does she handle feelings of guilt. her relationship with rei.
* headcanons : fuyumi + anger and violence
# so i’m not sure if horikoshi will prove me wrong, but i think fuyumi’s anger is the exact opposite of her brothers. so, she don’t really “explode” — not physically. it doesn’t burst out of her. i think it leaks. and a major tell of how absolutely furious she is, is when she couldn’t control her quirk to the point she manipulated the entire area or room to drop below freezing point. so, it leaks. it builds up, and then you realise - oh, you’re freezing, and oh, it’s coming from her.
# so what she possesses is a really cold anger. it’s very quiet, but very straight to the point, and most importantly, i think it’s just as dangerous. she isn’t really a violent person — i don’t think she’ll ever have the stomach to act out physically cause she’s seen the damage from what her father did to shouto — but pissed her off enough, yeah - maybe she’ll freeze the room to the edge of hypothermia for the second party. maybe.
# usually though, fuyumi rarely engages. she’s really well-behaved, and a lot of time like - whatever insults that come to her? she doesn’t really take them in? it’s like, she’s empty almost. so there’s nothing for her to really be offended by. but mention someone she cares about — natsuo, shouto, maybe even touya, or anything that threatens the equilibrium she’s trying so hard to build — then you can see the hard edges, the wall she puts up. people often forget but - she’s a todoroki too.
* headcanons : fuyumi + favourite dish
# oh!!! she likes a spread!!! so something that takes up a few bowls, something to sort of “show off” to people, is her favourite!!! because she just likes the grandeur of it all; the opportunity to treat and present. she lowkey wants to be praised, to be recognised, and it comes out in these small ways.
# but her favourite time would probably be just ... having her brother, mostly natsuo in this case, assist her in the kitchen — regardless of the meal. i think she likes the company, the solidarity that comes when she knows she’s working on something and she has someone’s support. when she helps the teachers on picnic day or smth, like ... she has so much fun just making sandwiches and little treats with the other sensei :((
* headcanons : fuyumi + handling the feeling of guilt
# she’s very easy to apologise, but she’s also very determined to prove that her sorry’s were never empty. so, she almost always go out of her way to make up for it. it’s in everyday routine, like when she messed up at work and she gets reprimanded etc so she tries her best to make up for it however she could, and it’s in the way she confronts what she deems as her incompetency towards shouto, natsuo, even rei. she makes an effort to call, to ask, to visit.
# you could say that it’s “mature” but,,, it’s also quite obsessive, the need for her to ensure that she needs to be the one to care for everybody, that need to go so far.
* headcanons : fuyumi + rei
# phew ... this spins my wheels!!!! but yeah, she’s okay with rei ? the thing is though — she’s only okay because her brothers are. so the way fuyumi started “operating”, i think, is like, the moment rei was removed — or like, even years / months before, since rei wasn’t in her healthiest capability to care for her children — fuyumi has slowly planted in her own mind that, she could no longer depend on her mother.
# she seeks for her mother for comfort, yes, but at one point — especially when rei was no longer around and hadn’t shown signs of returning — her mind shifts. she’s caring for natsuo now, because he has nobody else, and he’s present. and she’s trying to find ways to care to shouto too, because he also has nobody else, and he’s present. so, she immediately zooms in into what her siblings need.
# and because they need their mother, fuyumi makes an effort to try to locate rei. try to reunite the family. but it isn’t like she doesn’t miss rei - because she does, and she still wants her mother’s affection even after years - but she also recognises that, it’s more important for them, than it is for her.
# she doesn’t mind rei. she’s happy that her mother’s back, that her mother’s engaging and getting better. even more so that it made natsuo and shouto so, so, so happy; that they’re a step closer to becoming ... almost-whole again. but when you dig deeper, can you still find that slight resentment she holds because her mother have never tried to reach them? have never tried to come back when natsuo and shouto was grieving over her? yeah.
# i think at one point she’s accepted and realised that, okay. her mother’s rehabilitating for a reason. there’s no reason to be mad at her, mother’s also a victim. but the latest chapter (300, i think?) when rei stepped up and changed the family dynamic and suddenly took charge, i think, while she’s relieved she doesn’t necessarily have to be “the glue” anymore, it’s still - unnerving, to see her parents behaving like parents only when it’s life-threatening.
# she’s mad, because where were this dedication when natsuo has his football matches and scraped his knees? when she won that karuta match in her second year of high school? when shouto contracted lice and they spend hours combing it out after fuyumi had to take him home? hell, when touya-nii was stomping his foot, demanding attention at age six-ish years old? i think fuyumi’s frustrated because their parents sometimes really do make it obvious that they’re not there for the children, they’re only there for what the children could do. and it hurts.
‘ still terrorizing little children, overhaul? shits weird. ’
in the dhammapada, he read: a man is not called wise because he talks and talks again; but if he is peaceful, loving and fearless then he is in truth called wise. both men in the living room shared that last attribute, and only one of them obviously practiced the former. dabi had to be fearless, for him to be talking that way to the head of the yakuza. it’s disturbing. he did not meet the qualifications to be considered a wise man, and as his better, overhaul will have to show him that in time. a minion of his took a step towards the scarred man to check him on his blatant disrespect.
a quick, smoothing “ no, no. assuage your anger and remain put, ” from overhaul made the goon check himself and release the butt of the gun snuggled in the small of his back. a call for ultraviolence is an action he wishes to avoid.
it’s quite clear to overhaul that this unruly lot shared this pitiable predilection for rousing. it’s a game he’s certain that worked for them. nothing about them is clean. where they lay their heads, filthy. their business sensibilities, nauseating. in the old days, pops shown sharp silence from his great years of practicing patience with these types. it’s imperative for overhaul to follow suit, despite his trouble being tailored for it.
he had to ask himself, why lower myself to meet the standards of this boorish baboon? the man has done everything but settle in a seat across from him for a proper discussion. dabi had helped himself to a god awful cigarette, a fruit from out of the glass bowl on the coffee table, and three pisses on his valued time ( that vile unfounded accusation ). “ when will you be ready to get down to the reason why you’re here? ” he’s becoming not as patient as his voice, and current demeanor portrays him as. “ or would you like to reschedule this meeting for a later date, lest you squander your opportunities today? ”

‘ ... should i have searched for you ? ’ but that would’ve been impossible, she knows. she’d only been a girl, and a young one at that - what could she have done but yelled and wept for her big brother to come back, for her parents to tell her it wasn’t true ? ( that touya-nii is out there alone, that touya-nii needs someone to save him ! )
dad was so angry then, too. had yelled at mother to stop her from sobbing so loudly during the funeral. fuyumi learns obedience quickly. fuyumi learns that just because she’s spared most of the time, doesn’t mean she doesn’t get burnt too.
‘ would that have made any difference ? ’

@insinerations | EVIL WITHIN PROMPTS
“ a problem for whom? that’s not what i meant by shake the tables. stop thinking so damn small, dabi. ” he grumbles, over the crackling black skins belonging to four officers. it’s not their blue-lit carcasses that has him agitated. no, shigaraki figured this was already scripted in their fate, regardless. he currently had no use for pocketing corrupt pigs. it was dabi’s half-assed attempts at being a team-player. the scarecrow does pretty much what the scarecrows always do: grate the nerves for emotional tensions. less differentiated people are annoyingly difficult to move about in his chess game with the world. he understands he has to be patient about these things. foreseeing the endgame is what gets him through the stresses of his animated peers. he sighs, his voice deadpan as he tells his commander, “ do something with the frying bacon already before more of ‘em come. ” the honest meaning of moths to a flame. “ or worse. ”
