I love how in the Raffles tv series Mackenzie is just 24/7 spitting mad. He KNOWS Raffles is the thief, but he can’t prove it, and so he has to be at least passably polite to him. He launches himself at Raffles at every possible opportunity, only for his investigation to turn up empty, and he once again has to apologise to Raffles through his teeth.
He’s twisting himself into the world’s angriest balloon animal to maintain the thinnest veneer of respect. He’s standing there face flaming red, eyes blazing, 0.2 seconds away from screaming bloody murder, saying things like “good afternoon, gentlemen” and “I must apologise, sirs.” This is the closest I’ve ever seen a man come to killing someone with his bare hands out of sheer rage. He spends every day chewing on newspapers that mention Raffles. He looks like his whole body is about to shatter, he’s so mad. It’s hilarious
