Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🦃🦃 A little bit of Thanksgiving history for the curious minds. This #tinyplanet #360photo is the grave of a #Pilgrim, Richard More, who traveled across the Atlantic aboard the Mayflower. Mayflower was an English ship that transported a group of English families, known today as the Pilgrims, from England to the New World in 1620. In November 1621, after the Mayflower Pilgrims’ first corn harvest proved successful, Governor William Bradford organized a celebratory feast and invited a group of the fledgling colony’s Native American allies, including the Wampanoag chief Massasoit. Now remembered as American’s “first Thanksgiving”! I hope you have a wonderful day, full of thanks and joy as we celebrate what we are grateful for.
