Here it is! The prompt list I’ll be following for this year’s Inktober. As always, open to all to join, just be sure to use the tag #whynoctober for this list so I can see what you create! Here are the guidelines: 1. Create one piece of art every day for the entire month of October, based on the corresponding prompt 2. ALL skill levels, styles, and mediums welcome! While Inktober proper is traditionally ink, I use watercolor and encourage you to use whatever medium you like! 3. All prompts are open to however you want to interpret them, you can be literal or as abstract as you like. They can be scary, silly, etc. Get creative! . . I’m both dreading and really pumped for Inktober this year. I’ve been in a hard art slump for awhile–even putting the list together was especially hard this year. But I’m feeling optimistic and excited for the challenge. This community is so creative and talented and encouraging so let’s do this!

At long last! Here's the list I will be attempting for this year's #inktober! If you've never done an Inktober or are thinking about giving it a try, please do because it's a lot of fun! The basic gist is one post for every day in October, inspired by that day's prompt. Anyone can feel free to use this list, whether following along daily or only doing a few! I tend to be a little lax on the "Inktober" term and will be using watercolor, IMO any medium you like is fine. The important part is making time for art every day and challenging yourself! Also, Inktober knows no skill level, and these can be interpreted however you like (silly, spooky, etc) 😉 if you use my list, my one guideline is to use the #whynoctober or #whynoctober2018 tag because I fricken LOVE seeing what you guys create. Day 17--#cursedbook Ughhh what a bummer. I was really looking forward to this prompt but at no point during the hours of halfheartedly puddling something on the paper and wiping it off did I feel like painting 😑 rather than continuing to wrestle with it I thought it better to "finish" and start fresh with the next one tomorrow. Day 31--#halloweenfeast Okay. I'm going to acknowledge that this doesn't look very "Halloween Feast-y" HOWEVER. This is my third attempt after one and a half completed pieces I was dissatisfied with, took the least amount of time, and is the one I'm happy with. In fact I really like it. So we're all going to agree that the dark drips are "chocolate sauce." There. Feast. Okay? Okay. *long awaited exhale* another Inktober FINISHED! Guys. I can't believe its over. Day 19--#sepulchre This was one of the prompts that I had an idea for right away when putting the list together and I am so, so excited how its coming out and that I was able to pull it off. That being said I'm getting a little too sucked into it, and while I don't want to get behind in Inktober I don't want to potentially rush this one.
